| Jesus spoke to me today through the Bible... I have been praying a lot about giving up drinking because I am not sure if I am alcoholic or a heavy drinker. Today I was looking up verses about drunkards. One that particularly spoke to me was 1 Corinthians 6:12. "I can do anything I want to if Christ has not said no, but some of these things aren't good for me. Even if I am allowed to do them, I'll refuse to if I think they might get such a grip on me that I can't easily stop when I want to." Wow! Christ allows us to drink moderately and this is what I have been struggling with if I should drink moderately or try to give it up completely. I now realize that alcohol does have a grip on me and I cannot easily stop! So therefore I should refuse to drink alcohol at all since I cannot easily stop. Thank you Lord for pointing this out so specifically to me!! God bless all the Christians in Recovery and all those searching  |
