Smile Praise Report

Hello my Christian friends in recovery out there!

Well, I have a praise report. Today I have 14 days clean and sober and the weird thoughts of using are getting less and less. That huge urge to use is getting weaker. Daily I am working on my recovery as well as reading at least some of the word of God.

Yesterday my verse for the day was:

Let nothing be done out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let us esteem others higher than himself. Philippians 2:3

Blesssings, Sheila

Way to Go Sheila..............it gets easier as we learn to just take it one day at a time.

It's not what you quit or stop that is important, but what you start. Fill your spirit with the Word of God, They are words of life, nourish yourself with Them.

I am reminded of the parable that Jesus told of the person who had kicked out the demonic spirit that lived within him, and had swept the house (his body, soul and spirit) clean. When that demonic spirit came back and found the house clean, he brought seven other spirits and moved back in. For myself I read into that Scripture the progressiveness of addiction, even after we have quit using, we must do something to fill the void.

When you sweep the house clean (4th through 9th steps) fill the house with the Word of God so that there is no room for the evil addictions that try and enter.

Thanks again for sharing.........congratulations......you inspire me........toad

I was taught the same thing toad. That parable is the story of how addiction operates and why it gets worse each time you go around....
