just curious, what do you guys think heaven is like? it's another thing i have been thinking a lot about. i know noone knows, but what do you THINK? i mean...it says we will recognize our loved ones...but is that like an "internal" knowledge? what do we look like? do we do "normal" things? do we eat/drink/sleep? wear clothes? is jesus with everyone at the same time, or is he in one place and we go to him? what do we do there? of course, this is all speculation....just as i have contemplated death, though, i have contemplated heaven. i have wondered if we sit and listen to jesus all day...then what? millions of people together? or is jesus everywhere? do we spend our days like we do here? maybe i'm weird...has anyone else ever wondered these things lol? and there is no sorrow in Heaven...but i can't imagine being there and being happy to look down and see my kids cry. i'm sure i am a strange one...... thanks for putting up with me, anyway

One of the best things is that we will have new and 'glorified' bodies...with no more sickness or sorrows. In our finite mind it's hard to imagine a place where there is no suffering, without losing the knowlege of what has happened here on earth. I often wonder if there are alterations in what we know as space and time in heaven. Being in the continual presence of God and walking on streets made of gold can't be all that bad! This life is just like a grain of salt compared to eternity with Him. That puts alot of things that concern me so much today...into a different perspective. |

I have a lot of wonders about it as well. Lots I do not understand. My husband thinks that we will recognize each other as brothers and sisters in Christ, but not as in the relationship we had here on earth. I wonder if there is not any sin allowed in Heaven, then how could we remember our loved ones here on earth. To remember would allow sin into heaven as we are not without sin. Lots of questions. I look forward to singing praises to God all day & walking with Jesus & not having any ailments or sorrows, but I cannot imagine not knowing my children & my husband as who they are to me here on earth. Hard to fathom it all.

right.......that is my "concern" as well.....i guess if we have no "memories", we feel no loss, but to be without my children..........and then not seeing them in that way again...........we love everyone the same? very hard to imagine i just wonder what we do all day, too, lol............if we don't have earthly bodies or earthly "values" (which would cause envy).........does everyone have the same "robes"? do we sit with Jesus all day long and listen? if so, is he everywhere at once? or are we in the middle of hundreds of thousands of people trying to get his attention? does everyone have their own "heaven"? and are there no children? pets? when children die, do they get adult bodies? oh, my head is spinning oh yeah, and one other thing if when we ask forgiveness, our slates are wiped clean and we start new....then if we ask for forgiveness when we are dying, is that an automatic entry into heaven (assuming we mean it)? why would God look at our entire lives....all the good and the bad we have done to judge us.......if we have been forgiven? that's like holding on to things, then throwing them up to us after we were forgiven? if i ask for forgiveness right now, will things in my addiction be held up for everyone to see? if so, why? my head is spinning more

Second part... By seeking God now, I have the blessings He gives me now. I didn't accept the Lord till I was 43 so I missed out on 43 years of blessings and that is a lot of blessings to miss out on. As for what we will think and do in heaven... Per things written in the bible... we will have an understanding of earthly happenings. Our job when we reach heaven will be to judge (watch over) angels. Again the answer is found in the bible. As for Jesus being with each of us or in one place and we go to Him... Jesus is already with each one of us ... The Holy Spirit. Jesus will be the light that shines in heaven. Just as our sun and the moon give light to us here on earth...Jesus will be in all places at all times and the warmth of His light will shine in each of us. I was told by a retired pastor who preached for over 50 years... If we knew just how wonderful heaven truly is, we couldn't handle the wait to get there. Such things are beyond our understanding. In the book of Revalation, John is told...seal up this book and do not tell of it. The retired pastor who had studied the book of Revalation for many years feels that what John was told to seal up is just how wonderful the glories of heaven are. In God's time we will be given the answers as we are able to handle them.

Yes Misti, I have been told that we just can not comprehend how wonderful heaven is,, and most all people wonder the same thing about heaven,, but not to worry, it is to be sooo wonderful, that we will all be more happy than we can imagine, and with a peacfulness that we can not comprehend. This is what I have been taught. Prayers, Becky
