“At the foot of the cross, we are all equal.” The rich and the poor alike come on bended knee realizing that we cannot buy what we need from God. The educated and the unlearned come alike to the cross realizing that we cannot think our way to God. The strong and the weak come to the cross alike, either running or crawling, realizing that’s it’s not important how you got there, but that you are there. At the foot of the cross we become transparent. We become honest. We become real when our need is seen by God and others. We cannot come to the foot of the cross without honesty. The cross can be seen from a distance and described to a “T” without being entirely self-honest. But when we come to the foot of the cross, we must come by ourselves and we must recognize our need for God in our lives. Today may I spend time thinking that even though others pointed out the way to the cross, I alone had to make the journey. I have never been alone since. Today God is doing for me what I could not do for myself………………………..toad
