How God answers prayers. funny sometimes.

For a few months now, I have been trying to talk Steve into moving into someplace smaller and more affordable to ease the financial burden, but he has been more stubborn than a mule.

A few nights ago, while I was praying, I asked God to let Steve realize that we MUST move in order to make it financially.

Well, the next day, my landlord knocked on the door to tell us we are being evicted. Now we have no choice but to move. The same day, we found an apartment that I can afford on just my salary, It's small, and we only have 18 days left to move a 4 bedroom house with a garage, basement and shed into a 2 bedroom apartment, and that same amount of time to come up with $2500.00 to move in. But it will come together

We put alot of our stuff up for sale, and I have another paycheck between now and then.

The other thing that goes with this, the 24th is a Friday. I told Steve he has to do most of the moving because there is NO WAY the doctor will let me have off on a Friday. That is his busiest day. He came in this morning and told the office manager to cancel his office hours for the 24th, he's going out of town for the weekend. I can take the day off now.

I'm excited, scared, and overwhelmed all at the same time.

Laurie

I'm glad things are working out. Downsizing can be a very good thing. I've been gradually emptying my house of things we don't need and/or can't use. I guess the slogan "Keep it simple" has it's merits in more ways than one.
Prayers for a smooth transition to your new home!

Laurie

I am not suprised in the least by all that is happening in your life. The Lord can do anything and He always gets it done in style.
Not suprised but I am in awe every time that the Lord's hand is at work in a person's life.

Best,

I agree. I love when I can see the visible signs of God working in someone's life. Laurie, I'd say this was a good move for you - everything is falling into place!

What are you selling? Maybe we should have a big SR garage Sale!

I know many who say that God answers prayers with: "Yes," "No," "Not now, or maybe later," ........ BUT

I've found that as long as I'm praying according to His Word, His answer to me has always beenn, and is today, and will be forever.........................YES............... ..... woooooooohooooooo

I got a little feared up yesterday. So, I stopped by the Chapel that is open 24 hours near us, put a petition in the God box, prayed, made an offering. Then came home and prayed some more. We don't have any of the money we need to move in to the apartment yet.

Today, I got an answer from God. The money will be there, but not yet. He knows me well enough to know that I will spend "just a little here, or a little on this" and by the time we move, we will be scrambling for more money. He's making me wait. He's very smart you know. *LOL*

We are going to have a yard sale on Aug. 18th. Anyone feel like taking a road trip to PA to buy my old junk? lol.

We have stuff listed on Craigs list. Treadmill, recumbent exercise bike, entertainment center, lawnmower, gas grill, stuff like that.

We really have to downsize.

But, I feel at peace with the whole move today.

Thanks, God Bless, Laurie

Question

i am glad things are working out for you Namommy. I am curious about something. When you say that God gave you an answer, what form does it come in? Is it a voice or an action, a feeling, what is it and how do you know?

Namommy,

I had a similar answer to prayer that actually happened today. I was driving and asked the Lord, please keep me sober today, give me signs, throw anything at me Lord that you can. Well, I shouldn't have said the last part I guess because this homeless, crazy lady literally threw herself at my car about 15 minutes after my prayer. She ran accross the highway (4 lanes) headed straight for my car. I gunned the car instead of stopping or I would have surely hit her. It really shoke me up. After it happened I thought, what if I had been drunk and not had the instincts to gun the car? I was driving 45 mph. I would have killed her. Also, no one else was on that usually busy road. It was as if she was aiming for my car. I turned around to find her. I wanted to call the police - maybe she was suicidal. Couldn't find her. So..the Lord does answer prayer but it's not always the outcome I would have picked. Maybe we should try being more specific.

God takes is to where we are supposed to be and He works in our life to get us there safely.

Your post inspired me more than you can know, today, and had given me peace in making a decision that I have stalled on because of fear of the unknown.

Thanks, Laurie, you truly made my day. And good luck on your move, all will be well.

Hugs
