Lost my way...

I am a Christian, but had been out of church since I graduated from highschool (I'm 30 now). I've always kept my beliefs, not always followed in the path that I should've, obviously or I wouldn't be here.

Several months ago my husband and I started back in to church, he was even saved. I knew that I wanted my children to grow up in church like I did as a child. Then, my husband started having to work always when there was church, and I didn't want to go by myself. Stupid move.

Now, I'm struggling with alcoholism, totally against all of my religious beliefs. I am ashamed to tell anyone there what is going on.

I still have my faith and know that he is looking out for me. I just got accepted into a private pay inpatient rehab program. They take two indigent patients a month, but you have to know someone to find out about them. I even called and told them my situation and they didn't tell me anything about it. I have a friend in recovery that knew someone that had been accepted that way. I get to enter there on Wednesday.

Please keep me in your prayers.

Amanda

Even though you think or feel that the people at the church building or service won't understand or be accepting... I know someone who is always accepting and be it at 30 or 43 (me at the time)...Jesus is always accepting and understands fully.

Bring a bible with you on Wed. God's word in brings God's love out.

Praying for you, Amanda. Glad to hear you have made a decision to get help. You can do it!! Keep looking to the Lord for strength.

Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Amanda,
I'm praying for you too. Remember this:
Philippians 1:6
"God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished...."
God didn't bring you this far for nothing- my prayer is for your successful recovery and that you will be able to share it with others who are hurting like you are now.
I'm so happy that you decided to post here- we are here for you.
God bless you.
