My name is Deven and i'm looking for a positive place to recover, i've recently re-dedicated my life to jesus and seek fellowship with strong christians who understand addiction and lead me in my spiritual life. currently I am homeless and its lonely but i'm not going back to my old ways, i am a new creation. I love music and play guitar and would love to start a band, i'm into metal, punk, and alternative but am a lover of all music regardless of genre.Any help or support would be deeply appreciated.

Hello Deven, I don't have an answer for you but wanted to welcome you to SR and the Christians In Recovery forum. Perhaps some others will come along with some information you can use. Until then- please make yourself at home here with us, read around and take in all the good recovery here on this site. |

Hi Devan. Congratulations on your decisions to rededicate your life to Jesus and work your recovery. I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me. - Phillippians 4:13 Some others here attend the Celebrate Recovery meetings which are christian based. Hopefully they'll be along soon and will give you more info. Keep reading and posting. There's alot of encouragement and support here. |

I know god has a plan and it will all work out. I'm happy to be alive and praise him regrdless of my circumstances. Its been a rough stretch but i've chosen a new life in jesus. The misery i've suffered in my addiction only strengthens me to be strong in god so one day i can help others suffering what we've been through.

Celebrate Recovery meetings and bible studies at a good bible teaching church would gain you needed support and fellowship. I am sure that most churches would welcome your talents and skills with music as well. You could become a part of the music ministry team maybe. As for places to live... Finding a good church and asking of the people there could be a start. Another option... Contact the Salvation Army or google a search for Christian based rehabs in your area. Most rehabs and the Salvation Army would have listings for halfway houses or other living arrangements that are available in the area.

Praise God for the doors he is opening for you. Keep the faith... he will continue to care for you and meet your needs. "And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:19) |
