Hi my name is Sharon and Im an Alcholic. By the Grace of my HP and people like you here in SR I havent had a drink of alcohol since 8-11-90. For that and you I am truely grateful. In our daily lifes don't we use cell phones, emails, letters, phone calls, and other means to correspond or talk to one another? I mean how else are we to connect to our families, loved ones, associates? So ....how do we connect to our HP? Higher Power? How do we correspond with Him/Her? We can't cell phone Him...or email Him.... So the other choice from what ive been taught is thru prayer. Its a straight line communication to the Man upstairs for me. So, when u call ur family, boss and friends, what do you talk about? What do u ask of them? Do u need help with watching ur kids? Do you need time off for a Dr.'s appointment? How about just getting together for fun? Maybe just an ear to listen? What about ur sponsor? We call them for guidance, support, suggestions on what to do. All these people are important to us and thank goodness we have means to correspond with them.... Well so is it with our HP...We need help and guidance from Him/Her and thru prayer i can talk one on one with my HP. Corresponding thru prayer in the morning to help me stay sober one more day. Corresponding to help me end my day by saying thank You for keeping me sober one more day. Corresponding to help me with my addiction, my finacial woes. My family, job.... All in prayer to seek the answers and guidance that i need to carry on in life. Do you think that corresponding thru prayer to ur HP helps you in ur daily life and afflictions? Thanks for letting me share.

Yet- because of Jesus' atoning sacrifice we are adopted into the family of God, _if_ we choose His way and follow Him. "For all of you who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons of God. For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, 'Abba! Father'." Romans 8:14-15 Prayer is a very precious thing to me, one which I often take for granted. It is such a privilege to speak freely with my God. This post has reminded me of that. Thank you. | |

| Absolutely! Over the past 6 months or so, while dealing with my eventual decision to leave my AH, my relationship with God has become stronger and more personal. I talk to God off and on all day, aboiut things large and small. I have come to trust God much more deeply than I ever thought possible. I know God is working in my life.
