I Googled Christian Music today, and laid on my sofa listening to the music. (everyone else was out, I had the day to myself.)

I heard this song, and I had to jump up, and google the lyrics. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

The chorus.

The whole song! I couldn't believe what it was about. It's almost like it's about me.

When I was using, homeless and prostituting, the corner I worked had a church on it. When I would get tired, I would go and sit on the steps in the doorway. Or sometimes curl up in the corner of the doorway and go to sleep. I worked that corner everyday and everynight in the shadow of a steeple. I made many pleas to God on those steps. It was on those steps that I said the prayer to God to take me away from there. That prayer was answered within minutes.

I printed out the lyrics so I could save them and read them from time to time.

I love that song. It reminds me of my daughter also Everyone all dressed up in church, but we don't look and see what's right under our nose!

My favorite part of the song is that while she is running 100 miles an hour in the wrong direction, God turns and runs 100 miles an hour after her.

I remember one rainy night when I thought I couldn't go on another day I found myself sitting in the parking lot of the church I grew up in staring up at the steeple wondering where God was. Turns out he was looking for me, too. I'm so glad He doesn't give up on us.
