Tags are a reminder... doing what it takes to get them is the important part.

Good seeing you about Joe.
Congratulations once again.

Low point eh? didn't know what to do with them first sober exept wade thru. Nowadays I understand it's usually something I need working it's way through my thick skull. If I'm doin what I ought the best I can it gets better. And sometimes things just plain suck for the heck of it for a while.

When I first came in the old timers told me "it'll get better." As held on white knuckled, and gritting my teeth, I would ask "when?"

There comes a time when the road smooths out. Sometimes we don't even notice it until we've traveled it for a while, but as we look back we can see how it has truly been better indeed.

It gets better Joe. The Basic Text of NA states that "everyday we don't use is a success". No matter what happens or how we "feel" if we stay clean, it will go down in the winners column.

The Basic Text also says "the bottom line is to stay clean and enjoy life."...It'll get better Joe, crank that guitar up and file the edge of life down a little. The louder the better............Man, it's good to hear from you Joe, Made my day better.....thanks.

I find immense relief in tough going by laughing about something, and greater still by causing the same in someone else. Laughter, that is.

You're doing great emmer! .. It's hard work, and everyday requires prayer.
But God is with you.. Always remember that.. And always remember there is always someone here at SR that can just listen to anything you need to talk about, be sure to let it all out..

Love and Prayers,
Becky

HI, I'm really stressed right now in my life and getting depressed (job stress) The industry I'm in right now looks bleak to say the least ( there is almost no work left) and someone I'm working with is a major s--t head. I used to love going to work ,now I can't wait for it to end.
Sometimes I feel like vomiting. And I have other issues in my life also.
....... Crap!

Congratulations, Emmer on the 3 & 6 month tags. You sure have come a long way, I'm proud of you. Things are slow at my job also, we've been having to take a week layoff per month for over a year now. I enjoy the time off, but not the reduction in pay! LOL Lately I've been updating my resume (had some help from a smart friend and now I look great on paper!) and checking some of the job search sites as well as the local classifieds. I'm not ready to leave quite yet, but my resume is up to date and I have an idea of what else is out there. Maybe doing a few of these things will help you feel a little better about your job situation and you'll see what other jobs are available in your area. Praying things get better for you!

Those aren't your problem, you just think they are. If they go away, you'll still drink.

I know, I used to think like that too.

Put your trust in God. Turn your life and your will over to Him. Things will get better. I don't mean you won't lose your job, I mean you won't worry about losing it because you know God will provide.

Industry your involved in is that bad, everyone you work around is going through the same deal too. Good recipe to bring out the worst in everyone, or you can show your best. I learned through serious situations sober and drunk doesn't matter what's happening to me, it matters how I handle it and there's nothing, absolutely nothing that drinking or using over wouldn't make 10 times worse. And hard times get better, people are incredible at adapting to even the most unimaginable circumstances. Even if your ass falls off, you don't use it'll get better in the end.
Remember the insanity part of this deal? You picking up and using again, sober half a year now, is the insanity, and it will happen if you don't get out of the problem and into a solution. That's what those twelve steps will help you with if you want it. The most humiliating financial circumstances like not having work and rent despite my best efforts ended up teaching me humility by dealing with it and walking through it like a man, and working something out by discussing the situation with the people affected, just facing up to situations square and honest gives me relief that sticks with me even when it doesn't turn out well right away or at all, I knew I had done my best. When drunk I would have been on a bus long before I would let anyone see me lose, and I denied God to see me through it and grow my faith, which is what's important in the first place to have anything worth having in the end anyway.

Just said a prayer as well. I am sorry to read about your nerves. I always have trouble with my 'anniversaries'. That is one reason I do not count days. It just sets me off. That's my ESH, take what you like and throw out the rest.
