I am posting here for the 1st time asking for prayer for myself & my family. I am a hugh enabler & have been in & out of mtgs since I was 20. My 1st husband was a compulsive gamblr & after 10 yrs & 2 sons I divorced him. I was alone with my 2sons for 10 yrs until I met & married my present husband. He is a good man & we will be married 23 yrs this Nov. My 40 yr old son is addicted to coke & this has been going on for 20yrs due to my parents enabling. I think they have finally seen the light but they helped my son again not 5 wks ago. He is now bk in jail for what feels like the hundredth time. I have decided not to talk to him or see him until the day I pray when he gets help for himself. This is really hard as my heart is broken but I can't watch him destroy himself anymore. My 33 yr old son is a single parent of 2 little boys ages 5 & 2 & my husband & I are helping him raise them. I have a really long testimony & I will share it oneday but right now I have to stop as I have carpal tunnel in my right hand & typing is hard for me. I hope this forum is the appropriate place for my post. I saw Christians In Recovery & stopped in. Love, Diane |

Hi Diane, I'm glad to see you post here. You will meet some of the same from Friends and Family and a few different. This site is a blessing. You're still in my prayers and I believe you have done the right thing. I couldn't watch my daughter destroy herself anymore either, too hard. She always knew that when she was at her bottom and reached out I would be there and when she reached up God was still there. Blessings, susan |

Diane, I'm saying a prayer for you and your family. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is step out of the way so we don't stop our loved ones from hitting there bottom and letting God help them. (((DIANE)))) |

Dear CMC, Best & Toad, Thanx for the warm welcome. Onday I would love to share my testimony & how I came to become a true Christian. I was raised Roman Catholic but really became an Agnostic at age 5, though I didn't know the word for how I felt, I just thought if there was a God He didn't know I existed & I had to run my life alone. How I found my faith is I think an interesting way. Our God certainly brings people to him in unique ways. Kind of fits it to us. It is kind of long & I have to go & get my little grandson on the bus for HeadStart so I don't have to time to type it now. Again thanks for the warm welcome & I am so glad I have a place where I am free to post how I really feel about God & what He has done in my life. Love & Prayers, Diane |
