2745 Prayer and Christian life are inseparable, for they concern the same love and the same renunciation, proceeding from love, the same filial and loving conformity of the Father's plan of love; the same transforming union of the Holy Spirit who conforms us more and more to Christ Jesus ;the same love for all men, the love with which Jesus has loved us . "Whatever you ask the Father in my name , he will give it to you. This I command you, to love one another. "41 He "prays without ceasing" who unites prayer to works and good works to prayer. Only in this way can we consider as realizable the principal of praying without ceasing. 42 |

Catechism (Teachings) of the Catholic (Universal) Church What I found in my studies is the word Catholic means Universal. Such a teaching as you posted is a good lesson for all. A universal truth that all people can live by and prosper with. Good works and prayer...prayer and good works... You need to give it away to keep it.

Don't wanna spark a debate that could devolve into foolisness but... I've wondered before and somewhat deeply if different churches arguing over which doctrine is correct isn't a bit like the liver telling the heart it's not right because it doesn't perform the same functions as the liver.

One Lord...many denomnations that follow Him. You make an excellent point and we should come together on the common grounds and understand that our differences may serve a purpose that isn't always seen by others. C S Lewis had an idea... Bring people to a point of common understanding and as they walk down the hall of common understanding, they will pick what door they want to walk into. (paraphrased) The bible speaks of one body, many parts. Such can be seen in the dynamics of a family, a church, a community of churches, and the whole kingdom of Christianity. One Lord... many followers... look to what we have in common... Jesus as Lord and God.
