 Praying God's WOrd for May 11
Because only Christ can set us free, all other gods or idols--anything that exalts itself in our minds, that takes our focus off of Christ--can only enslave.
Merciful God, according to Your Word, everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God (John 3:20-21).
O God, help me to not be afraid to let You shine Your light on my darkness. Please cause Your light to permeate, expose, and treat any darkness or deception in me so that I can live freely in Your light!
Never let it be said of me that I feed on ashes because a deluded heart misleads me; that I cannot see that something I am holding onto in my life is a lie (Isa 44:20).
Help me never to exchange the truth of God for a lie (Rom 1:25). If any area remains in my life where I have made such a tragic exchange, please reveal it and set me free.
