| Wise men still seek Jesus
I saw that slogan on a church sign yesterday, thought it was neat. I have been sober for 22 days. Thanks be to Jesus whom I asked fervently to quit. I asked Him to help me quit smoking Nov. 7 2006 and was completely delivered form even craving a smoke. I have realized the importance of being serious in my prayers for help. In the past I have had half baked requests for help from God in addiction areas. I remember asking God a couple months ago for help to quit and now that I look back I wasnt completely ready for success. He answered my prayer by 'allowing' me to spiral out of control with my bad behavior while drinking. I understand now how this led me to feel enough shame and guilt to finally quit happily. His ways are higher than our ways..sometimes we just cant see His work in us. Praise be to Him.

Hi, Congrats on 22 days. I'm glad you stopped by to share with us how you are doing and to tell how the Lord delivered you from smoking too. It's always so nice to hear of how He is working in the life of another. It's true that sometimes we can't see Him working... but so good to know that what is unseen remains true. God bless you! |
