Celebrate Recovery Question

Have any of you gone through celebrate recovery. I am looking for something that ties in our relationship to Jesus Christ as our higher power.

I am looking for something based on the Bible and not pyscology to supplement AA.

I found the truthes of life by reading the bible.
The thing I like about the 12 steps of AA programs... they give a neat 12 step listing of suggestions (rules for life) that deal directly with alcohol and the ills that come along with it. AA, NA, Celibrate Recovery, Alcoholics Victorious, bible studies, church sermons, Sunday school classes, Men's group studies... fellowship with others, SR... With Jesus as my center and using any and all that are available for support, info...I find that I grow faster in my understanding.
Jesus first...His word as my guide along with the Holy Spirit and then useing other avenues to awaken my mind all the more works well for me.

Hebrews 13
20May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Take what you need and what works...leave the rest.

Hi there

Great to have you here at SR... I attend Celebrate Recovery. I just love it. I have attended for about a year and a half now. We have a pretty small group, although our group has definately grown over time. :o)

Do you have a Recovery Bible? I would one if you don't have one.

Hope to continue seeing you around SR!!

You too Johnee..

Prayers,

Love,
Becky

Yes
Ask your pastor and then contact Rick Warren (Purpose Driven Life author)
at the web site.
http://www.celebraterecovery.com/

I have not seen the Recovery Bible in KJ. That doesn't mean it isn't available though.
I have seen it in the New Living Translation and the NIV.

Very good answer Best!!

That is exactly what I would have said. Please check out the site for Celebrate Recovery. Hopefully you will find all you need there, and contacting Rick Warren would be wonderful. I love Celebrate Recovery, and I am SURE you will to. I will pray about it, and you pray about it to, and God will guide your way..

Love,
Becky

Celebrate Recovery is for all of lifes problems. Our group has drug addicts, alcoholics, sex addicts, gambling addicts, overeaters, codependents, any type of hurt, habit, or hang-up. Leaders manuals and start up kits are available at the website. Most churches are willing to sponsor a group. Most states have a person to contact. You can find them on the website..

Hey be sure to let us know how it was. I'm curious, and have been thinking about checking this out too. Was wondering how comparable it was to AA.
