Hi Im Sharon and Im an Alcoholic. By the Grace of my HP and people like you here in SR i haven't had a drink of alcohol since 8-11-90. For that im truely grateful. Worrying will only suceed in ruining our days, weeks, and months, and driving us nuts. It's better for us if we do not burden ourselves with conditions to be met, until the time arises. Worry kills, but labor strengthens. If we throw our- selves into helping others, we have no time to worry. God/HP knows what we have need of and it will be provided, so there is no need to worry. God/HP will give us all the knowl- edge and power we need, as well as love and peace if we trust wholly in Him. Why worry when we can pray. Do I let God/HP handle all the worries? Here, Lord, am I. Use me as a channel of Your blessing to others that I may not worry, but carry Your faith.

Thanks Sharon, Thanks for sharing this... the timing is perfect! What you shared about worry lines up exactly with the teachings of Jesus- and I believe that although to worry is a lack of faith on my part, the main reason He warns against it is for our own good. When I worry I am allowing the enemy of my soul to rob me and to destroy what blessings I do have. I have always looked upon worry as the opposite of having faith. I can get more faith by reading and hearing God's word, by fellowship, prayer and worship. When I don't feel like it... I will still do the things I know to do (what I just listed) and in faith believe despite what the emotions tell me. I struggle with this often and also realize that this struggle is a sign of growth as a Christian. It's a spiritual battle...and if we 'peek to the back of the book' we can know that this battle has already been fought and WON by Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross. Amen! |
