Urgent Prayer Request... - SoberRecovery : Alcoholism Drug Addiction Help and Information

My Daughter In-Law Laura was wheeled into emergency surgery today. She had to have her gall bladder removed. Normally this would be a routine procedure, but Laura is 20 weeks pregnant. During the operation her uterus was accidently perferated, and most of the amniotic fluid was lost... They almost lost Laura on the table due to an allergic reaction to the antibiotics they had to give her. Laura is out of surgery and stable now. The prognosis for baby Lillian's survival is extremely grim. They give her only a 10% chance or less of survival. Please keep Laura and baby Lillian in your prayers. Things don't look good, but I know we serve a mighty Lord and I still believe in miracles...

I feel like a bottomless pit of need tonight, but more prayers are needed... I called and left my little Brother a voice mail about the family emergency. He called back and he is in the midst of a crisis of his own. He is in the mountains of Washington State and three men from his hunting party are missing in the wilderness... I'm sure these guys could use our prayers. I don't have more details for now, but I will post more information when I get some.

There is some good news!!! The three men have been found... Cold, wet and worn out, but OK. At least there is some good news today, that and I am still sober on day 99 in spite of everything... God is good, all the time!

So glad to hear that you are maintaining your sobriety through these situations. (They become problems when we drink or use over them, according to my sponsor!!) God will get you through it!

Yesterday Laura's vital signs were strong and stable. They did another ultrasound and Baby Lillian is still alive! Her heartbeat is strong and regular, and the amniotic fluid has about doubled in volume! This is all very encouraging and an absolute miracle... We aren't out of the woods yet, the main concern now is anearobic staph infection setting in. If all goes well up and to 11/25 then we are pretty much home free! Thank you for the thoughts and prayers, please keep them up... They are working!!!

Thanks for the update... I am so happy that things have improved, and will keep praying for your two girls! btw I love the name "Lillian" ...as you can see by my avatar... lilies are a favorite of mine.
Prayers for no infections or complications of any kind... a smooth, safe delivery and one happy grampy!!
