| Sacred Scars
Excerpts from a daily devotional reading ... helped me today. ______________________________________ We all carry scars. Some scars appear on our bodies, others in our thoughts and feelings. Scars remind us of injuries we have survived – by God’s grace. Scars are also the pledge that whatever God may allow in our life, the purpose is not to damage, but to build up and heal. Strengthened by His promise we cling to Him in faith. Prayer: Lord Jesus, remind me by Your scars that Your gracious power is always at work, accomplishing Your purpose of love in my life. Amen.

It's funny when I read this I thought about all the physical scars on my body and was able to look back and remember how each one happened and what I learned by each one. In the same way emotional and spiritual scars have taught me how to avoid getting scarred in the same way again. The teacher? The Lord himself. I need to be constantly reminded that I'm the student and He's the teacher, not the other way around. I've been learning through this process just how much strength the Lord has given me through the scars of life. Thanks for the post.
