| A Peaceful Mind
I'd like to share a poem my AH (who's currently in prison) had clipped from a newspaper and mailed to me.... A Peaceful Mind By: D.T. Priest "To undo the past," what a wonderful thought To do away with ugly deeds wrought But, my friend, it doesn't work that way So we must look to today The past has already been lived If it's ugly then ask God to forgive Does that do away with what you've done amiss? As for God, it's in His sea of forgetfulness But you sometimes think this cannot be For humans possess a powerful thing called memory It will kick in from time to time And when it doesn't someone else will bring it to mind And then there's a common foe both you and I have faced That has tempted us many times into disgrace He will use your memory and use it well To keep you bound in a mental he*ll Some call him Satan or maybe Scratch But whatever the name, he's on the attack When his attacks become too great Carry him back to line eight And may all of God's redeemed Grasp this knowledge-- it's no dream OUR SINS ARE FORGOTTEN!!!
