| Chat Troubleshooting For log in and chat issues. Before logging in check the little "Remember Me" box next to the log in window. This will usually resolve the issue of getting automatically logged out. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Check your security settings. 1. On your browser at the top select Tools, then Internet Options and click the Security tab. 2. Click on "Trusted Sites" (the green circle with the check mark) and then click the "Sites" button below it. 3. Uncheck the "Require server verification (https"button if it's checked, and add the site URL [www.soberrecovery.com] to the "Add this Website to the Zone" field. Then click "Add". 4. Click "OK." 5. Next, click on the "Privacy" tab. 6. Below where it says "Web sites" click on the "Edit" button. 7. Add the bulletin board's domain [www.soberrecovery.com] and select "Always Allow." 8. Click OK twice, close your browser, re-open it and try logging on. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If that doesn't work try minimizing your AOL window and open internet explorer. Try logging in that way. You can find internet explorer by clicking start-programs-internet explorer. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ If you are still having problems you can try deleting your temporary internet files and cookies. CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! | Don't know if anyone else was having this problem but I thought I would pass along the solution anyway. I could not log into the chat kept getting an error message. Tried adjusting my firewall settings, even tried turing them off to log in, but couldn't get in. I was also having problems getting access to my student email account and during the process of that getting resolved it solved my chat problem too. If you have a wireless DSL router (you don't plug a cord directly into your computer to go online) then type in http://192.168.0.1 into the address bar of your browser. It will allow you access to your wireless router configuration. From there you can adjust your router's firewall configuration. I had to turn my router firewall off but you might be able to just turn yours to low. I do recommend that if you do this you have another form of firewall on your computer as it is never a good thing to be online without one running. This link is directions for reconfiguring a quest router but it should give you a general idea of how to reconfigure yours Actiontec GT701 Modem Support Page - Qwest Communications Good luck.
