I make this announcement with a heavy heart. Due to lack of participation and Chatroom glitches our weekly Chat Meetings are cancelled until further notice.

I’m forever grateful for you taking the time to chair those meetings and share your experience, advice, and encouragement. On more than one occasion, logging on for a meeting has saved me when struggling with my sobriety. I celebrate 6 months sober today thanks to this site and those meetings. Thank you!

Thank you Opi, Ladybug and Strat for all the work you've put into the Chat meetings. I'm sorry for the problems.

I'd like to thank the three of you too for being there in my very early sobriety, awake with anxiety at 2am in England. Was glad to have you there even though I couldn't work out what to do. Thanks

My dear friends Opi, Strat and Lady and all us "cross talkers",
I'm so sad that the chat on Tuesday/Friday meetings are ( temporarily) being cancelled. I have made so many really great friends and the education is fantastic!

Thanks Opi, Strat and Ladybug... you all got me and kept me sober for a loooooong time. I actually checked in to see if a meeting was on for the evening.

Your kindness and support to me one night, in chat, 7 years ago, meant the world to me, and kept me here at SR. Gave me hope, and reassurance that I would be ok, and that my loved one deserved love, even with his alcohol dependence.
It was a life raft when I felt like I was drowning, and I love you for it.
Chat is a very special feature- it makes possible, when you need it the most- a hearing ear, a warm hug, and hope... I hope it comes back soon.

I just read this thread and sit here with an aching heart and tears streaming down my face.
I regret that we felt it necessary to cancel the meetings, hopefully temporarily. I loved chairing them. I know on occasion it took courage for a member to type that ! and openly express their struggles. I applaud each and every member who shared their trials and triumphs with us every week.

Ina, I am so proud of you, and congrats on the 6 months.

Drake, I missed that :love2 emoticon too. I hope that you know you still have my love and support in your continued recovery.

Twofish, I was really happy to have you there. I know you faced the struggle of being on the other side of the fence. Being the family of an addict has its own struggles; and you know I share a kinship with you in those struggles. Please know I am available to you through PMs.

Thank you all for allowing me to be a participant in your recovery; you all have no idea how much YOU helped ME. It was my pleasure to be there for you and it was my salvation to have you there for me.

I hope that the meetings will be able to resume in the future, until then know that you have a ladybug on your shoulder. Much love to all of you.
