The chat meetings were so critical to me in early recovery, especially on Fridays, which were times I struggled. I have gotten to know and love so many of you and will miss spending my Friday nights here. I am grateful to SR for allowing me to chair the meetings, and to all of you for all the shares. I have learned so much from each of you and thank each one of you that has come to the meetings.

I wanted to share some of my favorite fun memories of SR chat.
1. Opi getting put in a box for cross-talking during Ladybug's meeting, but then working on a way of engineering her way out.
2. Snacks and carrot cake!
3. Hunt always bringing tons of coffee with her.
4. snoochies with the swirly heart emoticon.
5. Drake never quite getting the groceries Opi requested, especially celery and rice cakes.

Hi!!! So sorry to hear this!

I eventually quit trying to get into the chatroom, I had so many tech problems and it was frustrating constantly getting logged out.

I do miss all of you, and Opi, Ladybug, SugarBear, Strat, Hopeful, Hunt and many others helped me so much in early sobriety. I was a regular in chat for quite a while.

I really truly miss the Tuesday/Friday meetings.. I might have been quiet mostly
but the support and education I received and learned from ARE priceless.
Sure I go to f2f support meetings, they do help, but SR meetings made this Codie momma understand and perhaps smile

Reading all your posts I hope so much that chat meetings are reinstigated - I have had no joy whatsoever with "mobile chat" and have grown to hate the empty rooms in which I go to look for companionship and encouragement only to be greeted by a very loud echo.

Couldn't we just all get together and have a nice "informal chat meeting"?
There could be some positive outcomes...and we might even get away with "cross talking" and not have to go sit in the corner for a time out? Hee hee!
Gosh, do you think I'm addicted to our meetings? I can't tell enough, how much I miss our meetings and the comfort they brought to this momma.

I don't see why we all can't show up on Friday or Tuesday and see how it goes Twofish. I'll show up and we can just chat, even if it's just about snacks or cats.

And if it doesn't work out...lets beg Opi to "magically" transport all of us to my living room in my home, I can host the meeting and I got some FANTASTIC (how do I make that word green?) great snacks!!!!!
Seriously, I love you ladies and gentlemen, and the sweet sounds of how a person can calm and soothe and understand another person, whom is or has been hurting. The sweet sounds of hope. And yes we are "live" and we are "real"!!!!

I apologize for not attending the meetings lately and also thank opi, ladybug and strat for facilitating. The meetings were very important to me early in my sobriety and I am sad to see them gone. I was just thinking about stopping in again this week only to find this thread and see that the meetings have been canceled. I may try to stop by the chat room anyway, but I'm not very social and I liked the structured meetings.
