What the hell is ham steak? And how do you cook it?

I think you have to boil the salt out then roast,yummy.

it is a slice of a whole ham. (Atleast in NYC anyway)

You can cook it on the grill like a steak or under the broiler part of oven. If you want baste with a brown suger /pinapple or orange juice sauce. It goes real good with those Betty crocker scalloped potatoes.

I think Aurora thinking of something else.

Since ham is generally smoked it comes done. Your just cooking it to add some flavor and eye appeal.. so basically, when ever you want it to be done, it's done.

We fry ours in a pan until it is browned a little. It loses a WHOLE LOT of water and becomes kind of like the ham you'd eat on a ham biscuit. Its really good.
