*Please tell me about your Dog!!*

Hey Everybody,
I just got a new dog, She's a total cutie. She's a mini Dachshund.
Actually I have 5 dogs now. I lost 3 dogs last year. One died of old age.
One I ran over, my Teena it was horrible and I'll never stop crying about it never.
One that I replace Teena with to soon and she Peeeee'd all over everything
we had to get rid of her.
I have 3 black German Shepherds there great dogs and they live in a castle.
So I thought it would be fun to keep up with my friends here and hear about
your dogs.
Cant wait to hear about their good habits, bad, what funny things they do.
Like I have a Jack Russell Budlee. He was so funny last night the new little girl was trying to get to his food he kept going grrrr when she got close,
he would put 3 pieces of dog food in his mouth. Then she would follow him.
He would grrrrr but she didnt care. Then he would drop one of the three and she would eat it.
They repeated the game untill they were full. It was totally funny.
Had a movie on at the time but guess what I watched LOL
Max

Confrats on your fuzzy famiy, too. They are the closest thing to joy that I know on this planet!

I have a chocolate lab, three yrs. old. She is amazing. She rings the bells, that hang on the doorknob, when she needs to go out. A total baby. She "talks" whenever she wants a treat. It is so funny.

Hey Max,
I don't know how to insert a pic and even if I did my computer is being difficult so it wouldn't work. Kirby is a Wheaten Terrior. He has the energy of a Westie and the size of a small lab...very volitile combo! He's a lover boy though and would never hurt a soul (I don't want to tell any potential muggers though). He loves sprinting so our yard is good for him, but he also really loves a good long nap.

I'll try to send a pic if I can figure it out.

I have an American Eskimo, Clive. My avatar shows Clive and his brother, Buster, who I had to put down 2 years ago due to a brain tumor. Clive is the one outside the bathtub. He is big lover -- doesn't like to chase balls or anything. Would rather be petted. He loves to roll in goosepoop when he isn't eating it! Ewwww! I love him soooo much!

Woohoo! Dogs--my favorite subject!

That pic of Zazoo in the car is priceless! And Trooper's story is just amazing.

We have two dogs, a food-obsessed little clown of a beagle and a lovely, sweet-tempered greyhound who joined the family a couple weeks ago. They add so much to our family.

I have a Boston Terrier....they are so cute. She is black and white and got a smushed face and giant ears. What I hear the most is that she is so ugly she is cute.

She recently broke her leg falling off the bed but gets to get her cast off on Thursday (had it on about 2 weeks) because she is healing so nicely. She will still be on pain meds so that she won't walk on it so much (they put her to sleep) but she is getting better.

She is the funniest dog I have ever seen. Her facial expressions are priceless.

She sleeps in the bed with us and half the time I can't tell if it is my H or my dog snoring b/c she snores just like a human. She also has gas just like one and it isn't embarrasing to her but when she poots she chases her butt like she didn't know what happens! it is hilarious!!!

Lab mix mutt...black with the coat of a golden retriever. He's beautiful and we got him from the pound as a pup.
His name is Fred. He still hasn't figured out he's a dog...he thinks my kids are his siblings and he will get very disturbed if you treat him like a dog.
He's almost nine, wieghs almost 100lbs and thinks he's a lap dog.
But he's so darn loyal. I love that about dogs.

I have a black female doberman pincher. She looks alot like your dog except she is much bigger. She is so sweet her name is "lulu". We got her from a no-kill shelter. She was very tiny, skinny and very sick and so young that she did not have any teeth. She had a bad case of kennel cough too. We were not sure she would even live. But she did and she is the best! If you click on my screen name you can see a picture of me and her.

I have a 6 year old male Rottweiler. His pic is my avatar. He is my EVERYTHING!!!! NOT what you would expect from a rottie at all. He thinks he is a lap dog. He is my seizure alert and response dog. I never trained him to be, he just "knows" when one is coming on.... most times before I do and he will herd me to safety and lay across me until he knows it has passed. He loves everyone!!!! I got him for my birthday, he was 5 weeks old and he actually picked me.....I was in the whelping box and holding a different pup. Atticus literally pulled my boot lace untied as if to say "HEY!!!!! Pick me..." It was love at first sight!!! He is so funny and my parents have him so spoiled, he actually will go to the kitchen every afternoon at 2:30 and sit.....he knows it is sanck time!!!! So they will give him a couple dog cookies!!! Its way funny!!!!He is full bred german with excellent bloodlines, we have a contract with his breeder and he will be bred as soon as the bitch I picked goes into her 4th heat (probably next month) I get the pick of the litter!!!! YAY!!!! Stay tuned LOL
Great topic btw, I could go on for hours about my boy but Ill stfu now

These are William and Wallace
They're really brave with big dogs until you open the driveway gates. At the weekend they were almost whimpering when a deer hound wagged its tail at them, lol.

I don't have any pets right now, but I wanted to tell you about my favorite one. He was mostly cocker spaniel with maybe a bit of poodle, black and a stray. My hubby rescued him after he had been tossed from a car near his work. He was about ten months old and covered with huge fleas- but we had a vet who did house calls check him out and my three kids who were ages 1 -7 named him, Puppy.
I have alot of funny stories about him but my favorite involves a chicken. We did not live in a rural area but nevertheless my next door neighbor decided he wanted a couple chickens. A chain link fence separated our backyards.
One morning my hubby went out to get the trash can and found what was left of a chicken pulled halfway through the chainlink!!!!! yuk! (so sorry to all you chicken lovers!)
It still makes me wonder how that dog was able to do it!!!!!!

We have 2 Labradors -- Ozzie is 12 and Mac is 6 months. Baseball is big in our house, so the dogs are named after Ozzie Smith and Mark McGwire. Ozzie has hunted since he was 4 months old, but has been declining bit by bit and couldn't jump into the truck last year. We recruited the new era and waited for a large-boned litter (Canadian Blockheads!) to be born. Mac is 56lbs at 6 months, and will top off about 95-105lbs.

Mac retrieved his 1st quail at 3 months and we've been working daily at water retrieves. Yesterday was his 1st duck. I know it's gross, but we saved a few birds my hubby shot last season and froze them, feathers and all. They make good training dummies, and are being used for the greater good. Freaks people out, though!

Anyway, our Lab training segment has ended for the day. Here's a picture from May:

Thanks for the chance to share. We were due to pick up the puppy right when the worst part of our experience was coming to a head. My hubby thought it might be good to wait, but I needed that dog to give me something to super-focus on to get me through. His sweet demeanor and Grand Canyon of needs has been a blessing to me.
