| Beautiful lyrics
I heard this song on the car radio today--never paid much attention to the words before, but it's really nice: Life Ain't Always Beautiful - Gary Allan Genre/Lang. : Country Life ain't always beautifu.l Sometimes it's just plain hard. Life can knock you down, It can break your heart. Life ain't always beautiful: You think you're on your way. And it's just a dead end road, At the end of the day. But the struggles make you stronger, And the changes make you wise. And happiness has it's own way, Of takin' it's sweet time. No, life aint always beautiful. Tears will fall sometimes. Life aint always beautiful, But it's a beautiful ride. Life aint always beautiful: Some days, I miss your smile. I get tired of walkin' all, These lonely miles. And I wish for just one minute, I could see your pretty face. Guess I can dream, But life dont work that way. But the struggles make me stronger, And the changes make me wise. And happiness has it's own way, Of takin' it's sweet time. No, life aint always beautiful. But I know I'll be fine. Hey, life ain't always beautiful, But it's a beautiful ride. What a beautiful ride. |

This is not so much a "pretty" song, but I love the words: Well you know those times When you feel like there's a sign there on your back Say's I don't mind if ya kick me Seems like everybody has Things go from bad to worse You'd think they can't get worse than that And then they do You still walk the straight and narrow And you don't know where you are Use the needle of your compass To sew up your broken heart Ask directions from a genie In a bottle of Jim Beam And she lies to You That's when you learn the truth If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Well I been deep down in that darkness I been down to my last match Felt a hundered different demons Breathing fire down my back And I knew that if I stumbled I'd fall right into the trap that they were laying, Yeah But the good news Is there's angels everywhere out on the street Holding out a hand to pull you back upon your feet The one's that you been dragging for so long You're on your knees You might as well be free Guess what I'm saying If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah, If you're going through hell Keep on moving, Face that fire Walk right through it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there If you're going through hell Keep on going, Don't slow down If you're scared, don't show it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah, If you're going through hell Keep on moving, Face that fire Walk right through it You might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah you might get out Before the devil even knows you're there Yeah. |

Today was their last day--school let out before noon. It's a good thing, too! If I had to remember just one more field trip/program/special event my brain would have exploded. As long as we're talking song lyrics, have you heard the Brad Paisley sings, "Alcohol?" For me, it makes a good point about the pitfalls of alcohol, thought I think it's meant to be a funny song... Alcohol I can make anybody pretty I can make you believe any lie I can make you pick a fight With somebody twice your size I been known to cause a few break ups I been known to cause a few births I can make you new friends Or I can make you say bad words [1st Chorus] And since the day I left Milwaukee Lynchburg and Bordeaux France Been making the bars lots of big money And helping white people dance I got you in trouble in high school But college, now that was a ball You had some of the best times You'll never remember with me Alcohol Alcohol I got blamed at your wedding reception For your best man's embarrassing speech And also for those Naked pictures of you at the beach I've influenced kings and world leaders I helped Hemmingway write like he did And I'll bet you a drink or two that I can make you Put that lampshade on your head [2nd Chorus] 'Cause since the day I left Milwaukee Lynchburg and Bordeaux France Been making a fool out of folks just like you And helping white people dance I'm medicine and I am poison I can help you up or make you fall You had some of the best times You'll never remember with me Alcohol Alcohol |
