Well, he's touring with just a piano player (Larry Goldings. Insight, anyone?), which is close enough for me. Plus, the venue is intimate (2700 seats) so I've got hopes for a guitar autograph opportunity. 'Twould add to the collection on my Martin: Richie Havens, Leo Kottke, Kelly Joe Phelps... James Taylor?!

sounds like fun : ) Having seen him both ways-once in a huge ampithatre with a huge band and lots of lights and another time solo with only JT, his guitar and a tape player (he hit the tape player when he wanted to sing with Carly, This was shortly after their break up- and I loved both venues. They were indeed very different experiences. Hope you get the graph.

When I was in school at Carolina, I used to go to the James Taylor Student Health Service. I think it was named after JT's father who was a doctor or something there in Chapel Hill.

It's really odd that I have such antipathy for James Taylor and yet I adore Phil Ochs because they do have some similar vocal qualities now that I think about it. Hmmm...
