| Any Cat Lovers Out There
I need some advice. I have Cat named Clementine (some of you know this) Anyway she's gonna be five years old. She has had kitty acne, she's alergic to plastic, when she gets her rabbi shots thety turn into Absyss and she has to have them removed. The worst one was the brown Recluse Spider biet last August. Ever since she keeps pulling her hair out in that spot and its itching her. I've taken her to the vet amillion times. She last was at an animal dermatologist. They can't find out why she's doing this. Anyway, Shes so damn cute but I can't really tell if she's suffering. Right now she has Baboon Butt all pink and stuff with no hair. Anyway, She's become very protective of me. She's been on Dyazapan. I know I spelled that wrong. I've spent about 3 grand on her already. I just love her so much but I don't know if I should put her down. I wanted to get another kitty but she nips and snarls at everyone but me. I'm afraid she'd hurt the kitty. Would you put her down. She just licks that spot all the time. But when I'm home she's so loving. I honestly can't tell if she's suffering or not. She's just licking and chewing on it and they can't find out why. Just asking for advice |

Oh, Rose. It is SO hard to know what's right. I just don't know. I had to decide to put down my beloved (and fairly young) dog last year, so I have an idea of where you're coming from.I'm going to look through some of my animal books today and see if there's anything that might be helpful to you & your Clementine. Love, Jane |

well - i don't think she's suffering to the point of having to put her down from the sounds of it. my one cat had some type of allergy and she licked the whole bottom half of her body clean of fur. hopefully someone else may be able to offer advice on this. mine was on prednisone for a very short period of time. maybe try to get a second opinion?

I have 4 cats and one dog and one of my cats is about to have babies. They are actually my kids pets except the dog and he belongs to my husband. I don't have any advice but what Cwohio said was good, get a second opinion. I don;t blame you for not wanting her to suffer so I would make sure and get all the answers that I can before making any desisions. GP |

Thanks everyone. She's seen three doctors already. They are just stumped She has removed her hair, but it gets all bloody and scabby. Then I have to get medicine so it doesn't get infected. I don't want to put her down. She's my kid. But she's had four surgery's already. Janeeyre I'm gonna take a look at my PM Now. If I was computer smart I'd put her picture on here. You would all fall in love with her. She's just cute. |

Hi Rose a similar thing happened to my cat when I was young and it turned out that she had got fleas and she was allergic to flea-bites. Prob not much use but just thought I'd mention it. I hope your lovely puddy-tat will be ok (((clementine))))) xxxx

Hi Rose Go to a health food store and get some licorice root in paste or pwdered form. Ask the store clerk how to dose for a cat. It should be very small amounts that you can mix in with the food. If you ask the vet, just like a medical doctor, they specialize in stronger medicines, not in nutrition or herbs, but its been a super effective remedy for skin problems like you described. It will nourish her adrenal glands which help to produce natural cortisone in the body which will fight the allergic response. Topically, you could try neem lotion, another natural skin care remedy that is safe and effective for animals.for more info, try googling "adrenal exhaustion in cats", "neem for cats", or "licorice root benefits for cats" and see what you can find. Don't give up hope.Question: Is your cat exposed to smoke regularly?
