Errrm,,,,,,,no. I am not joking about crochet. I cannot do it. I have no patience for it. I don't knit, crochet, sew or work jigsaw puzzles. Because, I would have them all thrown out of the door in
. minutes.

I really do like croquet though.

Well, yes, if we are talking about the same thing. THe game you play in the yard with little white fence/goal like things and hard balls and mallets. I love that game. Love it. Reminds me of my childhood. Have not played since I was a child though. I would love to go out and buy a set. They are very expensive believe it or not. I don't think my kids have ever played.

Note to self: Put croquet set on list of things to buy if you ever have money again or call parents and see if they still have one.

I'd love to learn to crochet! Have a feeling my pulling days might be over tho, might have a bit of pushing to do in the near future tho! I wonder if you can learn how to crochet from the net? I'm too cheap to go buying books from shops if I can get the info for free online!

I don't think this is wierd, I think we are almost all of us the same in this, but even if I needed the money myself I'd still give it away to a friend or charity and go without myself but even if I didn't need the money I would never give it away to a shop unless I really had to.

Oh I'm rambling! I think the hormones are kicking in. I keep bursting into tears and if he's lucky I'll say 'I don't know why I'm crying' and reach out for a hug and if he's unlucky I'll shout 'it's ok for you! Your breasts arent' the size of melons and you don't scream in pain when you make a sudden arm movement that makes you feel like your breast has just been slammed in a car door!'

Oh God! I suffer from depression anyway and now there is giving up drinking, not taking the antidepressants, giving up smoking, the emotional 'atom-bomb' of 'you're having a baby!' AND the hormones! All within 10 days...

*if you need me I'll be on the ceiling...

*sobs...

(((((Spacegirl)))))

It will get better, I promise. Hang in there kiddo. Once you get over the shock and the hormone adjustment, you'll be fine.

Just keep venting here if you need to.

We've got your back.

Wow. What a weekend it's been here at SR. I feel like I've missed a year! I'll have to find a way to make time for this on the weekends.

I LOVE to crochet, though I don't know how to make very complicated things. I just love the soft, velvety yarn you can get now--it's so nice to work with. Spacegirl, I learned it from a library book a few years ago--you could do it!

Purrdy and OVERIT, I am very glad you two have worked things out. All is right in the world again.

Love,
Jane

Spacegirl - I've been staying out of the conversation because I don't crochet, but I can't hold my tongue any longer. Two things - first, I'm sure you can learn crochet on the web - just google "beginner crochet lessons" or something like that - (and I usually add the word "free" when I'm looking for such stuff). Be sure to start with smooth yarn and a big hook. I may not crochet, but I'm a pretty proficient knitter.

Secondly, and more importantly, and the real reason I'm responding: I think I saw in one of your above responses that you're not taking anti-d's while you're pregnant. Have you stopped with a doctor's care? Have you spoken to your doctor about safe alternatives? I take lots and lots of medications (anti-d's, various breathing meds, and other stuff, too.) When I first went to the obgyn, they told me to stop all meds. When I had a serious reaction to stopping one of them suddenly, my regular dr went ballistic. Turned out NOT having the drug was more dangerous to the baby than taking it, since it decreased my O2 levels. I could have been depriving the baby of oxygen! Don't get me wrong: I'm not a doctor or a nurse or a midwife. I'm just saying that lots of drugs are safe to take while pregnant.

Only your doctor can tell you for sure.

One last thing: the best way to get a person to stop poking you in the belly is a swift, hard left hook! (I hated being poked in the belly by strangers. And being asked how much weight I had gained. I'd forgotten til just now how much that irritated me, too.)
