Thanks i'm so confused so many people look at me as if I'm stupid when I try to explain my problems.
We are also affected with different degrees of autism. I have been studiesd as I can explain how it feels and affects me. I am also a glabal thinker...non-sequential I can intellectualize it but alas I can't do it.

I'm glad to you told us, now I can pick your brain on occasion! LOL!

BTW, I just returned from a great conference on Autism Spectum Disorders and use of ABA and Verbal Analysis. It was really interesting! Dr. Carbone, who's one of the leading specialists in Autism was there speaking, and I think it motivated me a bit to get off my ars and actually start myself on a track to becoming a BCBA. Purrdy, if you're interested in this field, it's a really high needs area to get into. And, the money can't be beat!
I worked as a team leader in ABA in the UK for 3 years. I left it because I nearly went bankrupt - tons of work but I kept taking people on that couldn't pay!! No regrets though, it's fascinating work. I worked with Norweigen consultants heavily involved in research and dismayed at the UK system as ABA is provided free over there. Families in the UK had to fundraise, I worked with one family that lived in a mobile home (trailer in the US I think) and had 4 kids, all had learning difficulties and one severely autistic + probably much more due to premature birth. They worked so hard to do the best for their kids but lost in the end - watching a child lose the few hard won skills was enough for me. At one time I was the only therapist still working, we couldn't even maintain skills on my few hours - to give up is a hard decision.
