I am soooooooooooo excited for you!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think I will be much help in the interview department though. I worked at the same job for almost 20 years, so I have not been on one in a while. But, when I did work I had to interview people. I guess what I looked for was appearance (shallow, but you have to have some judgement about that). I lookekd for confidence and I liked it when they looked me straight in the eye. I also always liked a good firm handshake (sounds stupid). Just be yourself. Be honest and you will fine "dahling". Will be thinking and praying for you. xoxoxoxoxoxo Ang |

Practice! Practice! Practice! There are interview questions on the web... print off a bunch and sit with a friend, a family member or the dog ... ok, in your case, the cat ... and answer OUT LOUD each question! Do the hardest ones first... "Why did you leave your last position?" "What was your least favorite task/responsibility in your last job?" "What is your most difficult challenge?" "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?" "What can you offer that is different from the other candidates?" ... and PRAY! ...it sure looks to me that HP is giving you opportunities, so trust that He will make the right one happen for you. Don't forget to walk into the bathroom...look yourself straight in the eye and tell yourself... You are a capable, intelligent woman who deserves this position. You have the skills and abilities they want and need! You will be the best decision they've made in a long time. ((((Purrrrdy)))

hey purrdy congrats on getting the interview! that is great! one of the most important things I find is to know as much as you can about the person interviewing you and the company/job itself. do some research before you go to the interview and find out as much as you can and have some questions ready for your interviewer. It shows you are interested in them and the job etc... also, try to relax (thats a bug duh, right? ...lol they always say 'dress for the job you want'... which for me always meant dressing really slick--as though I own the company, not just want to work there. not showey, but really well put together. what kind of job are you intervewiing for? what industry? all the rules for drssing for the interview change according to the industry... anyway, i hope thats somewhat helpful, and i am sure you will do great!! Dont forget to bring an extra copy of your resume to the interview, even if you think they have a copy... Good luck!!!! Hugs, Milla |

Purrdy...loads of helpful suggestions and tips here for you. I relate to the feelings you express ((( fluffy wuffety ))). When my own tiz is looming larger than life I make a list of all my assets, accomplishments and fine attributes both personal and professional...helps me see myself more clearly, see me for the competent, capable person I really am. My fears of rejection stem from the abandonment I experienced in childhood so rejection today can feel magnified. I know today I am not that fearful little girl any more...so onward and up I go. The right job for you is out there... We love ya. We're here for you... |

| JUST DO IT!! |
Purrdy one thing that I always try to remember is that I really have no control over what happens. I always say a prayer before I go in and ask my HP to guide and direct me and also to give me the words that he/she would have me to say. I turn it all over to God and leave the results up to him. Even sometimes I will try and keep in contact with my God during that time and just say thank you ahead of time. Sending good thoughts your way. Love Vic

Thankyou all so much, I told you all before i told anyone else! is that crazy....its really wierd you know but i do feel ok about this...even if i do get rejected, my HP obviously wants me to go there just for the experience! I have to hang on to the fact that if they dont want me then its not right for me anyway!! its not ME, there is nothing wrong with ME! I have a lovely suit and boots to wear adn i did a recce of the palce last week so I know where it is and how long it will take to get there... It is a brand new childrens centre and thre is little written about it no website or anything to do research so I am going in blind! I will updat a few bits to show them photos of work i have done and resources i have made, it can be an ice breaker if nothing else...I will of course ask HP to guide me I am relying heavily on HP right now!! The rest will be up to me i guess, turn up on time look smart and be myself! waht else can i do? I am really gratefull for your advice and suggestions! keep them coming!!! thankyou love purrdyxxx |

When I applied and was interviewed I compared the work at the video store with the friendlyness of those who make my trips to Disneyland so wonderful. I would always bring my answers back to "I smile no matter what because I know what a difference it can make in the day of the customer". When asked about doing things I would dislike I replied that I may not like it but I know that I can show how commited I am to my manager by doing all work as well as I can, and added that I understand that no one likes to stock the shelves, but I understand it needs to be done so of course I would be willing to do my share. I got the job, only to lose it before my first day when a former employee came back to town and wanted the job back.
