| Question about software
I'm starting a new job this coming week. My new boss sent me an e-mail, asking me about some software they're going to try. This is what she asked: The contact and customer manager sofeware is ACT! by Sage 2006 version 8. It links directly to QuickBooks Pro and Premier 2005. However in setting it up we need to confirm it's synchronization features. Can it synch sections or does it load everything each time? Does anyone know anything at all about this software? Or know if there is a better software for the purpose she describes?

I'm not familiar with ACT! Is it a customer contact management base? I know about eGain (huge corporate EMS system). It uses either a manual or dynamic data sync with the server. Record update settings can switched between the two--either constantly updated--or updated when you tell it to update.

Yup...it's exactly that, Midas, but it supposed to also work with Quickbooks to keep all the information easily between the programs. I'm not familiar with the program, but I guess I'll be learning it as I go. I'm downloading the free trial version so that I can play around in it and get a little bit of a feel for it before I start the new job Tuesday...but I know that around here, there are so many people, SOMEONE must know something about ACT! 2006. So, I figured I'd see what else I could find out.

Good luck with the new job! Sounds exciting. Learning new stuff is always exciting. Here a quick Q&A from the Sage website; http://www.dmcsoftware.co.uk/act/actpro_and_act6.aspx Quote:
