| Need Help w/ These Lyrics.....................
I play Name That Tune on another forum and this one has got me major stumped. Can anyone help? I will give you the lyrics and the hints that she gave. I need the song title and artist. TIA> When my woman left I had a brilliant flash I started Hippyland, man Just to raise some cash I wanted it to be just like Disneyland, Man For all the hippy-dippy people all across this land With a Big-Bong ride that would suck you inside Spin you round & round 'Til everybody got down Makin' love not war 'Til their bodies got sore Then you work off all your cramps In the Lava Lamp... Here are 2 Hints: 1. Singer's father is Chinese and his mother is Scottish-Irish 2. Former guitarist of a 1960's interracial sextet and he co-wrote the group's biggest hit |

You guys were right! You are the bomb. The song was: Quote O.K. It's "Hippyland" by Tommy Chong...a cute rap, (if raps can be cute-yeah I guess they can...), that was on the soundtrack for "Far Out Man". I would have typed more lyrics but the next verse is a bit...well, suggestive. To some, anyway. It wasn't a really popular movie. We ran across it not long after it came out some years ago and although at first it was a bit odd, it tends to grow on you. There are some goofy things that happen but there are parts that are soooo hilarious!! I can PM you the rest of the lyrics...I think I can remember them, we used to sing it all of the time after we saw the movie. I'll be mining from memory so I hope I can get it right. I though this might be a stumper but I thought at least the soundtrack and lyrics might be listed somewhere so I searched for them after your first hint request and found, well, nothing. I found the soundtrack listed but none of the songs. The CD was really hard to find when I found it on eBay about 7 or 8 years ago but I lucked out and it wasn't even open. It was in one of the older packages, when they used to put them in a long cardboard sleeve. Anyway, your turn!! You guessed the singer so that's close enough! End quote |
