Here's a simple scene I finished this afternoon. I've always been a big fan of sci-fi fantasy, and this image was inspired by Disney's classic space adventure, The Black Hole. It's entitled Celestial Wonder: Vortex at Beta Librae One. « Clickety Click for a bigger pic. It's a rather large GIF, weighing in at a mere 900k.![]() A little back-story: Beta One is a solar system very much like ours in the Libra constellation. It's common name is Zubeneschamali. Its proper astronomical name is Beta Librae. In Aramaic, that translates to "Northern Claw". |

That would make a great wall poster. Have you seen the picture of the stars that they call the eye of God?

Here's another fantasy pic I threw together last night, using only E-on Software's Vue 4 Esprit. It's a couple years old, but pretty powerful for generating 3D scenes. Terragen is good too for being an GNU OpenSource project. (It's more or less like a VistaPro 5 that never got to see the light of day). Anyway, here's "Beta Librae One: Moonrise over Mt. Zandar" ![]() (estimated time to create: approx 1 hr, just fartin' around) And here's a static image I used in assembling the first animated vortex. ![]() |

Thx Done & Idigo. Do I do it for work? OMG I wish! It's really a hobby that keeps me from going plum loco. I've often thought about it. I've used so many different programs for soooo long, it's almost second nature--like an artists paintbrush. I kinda had an idea to start a business doing strictly digital photo retouching, but the software that's available (even the free stuff) makes it unprofitable. |
