| I need mechanical advice too!
The offender: 2000 Ford Ranger XLT (6 cylinder) automatic All this started within the past week. Acting sluggish upon moving. Stays in 1st too long (can hear the engine revving at that time), then kicks into 2nd really hard. Other gears sound fine. Just a few days after this started, my "overdrive off" button started flashing. Pushing the button does nothing. I had never seen it flash before. It has always shown simply overdrive on or off. This flashing happens everytime I drive the truck. Am I in a mess or could it be something simple? I had the transmission fluid and filter changed about 18,000 miles ago (less than one year) and the mechanic mentioned nothing appearing out of the ordinary.
