Having spent 15 years in a mining town up north, that's nothing but good news all around for the entire community where this happened.

Tragically, I'm afraid that was false hope. Only one has survived.

My thoughts go out to all involved.

The original tragedy made worse by this miscommunication.
My dad's uncle died in a mine. What a horrible end...
My thoughts and prayers go out to those involved.... So sad...

Shalom!

From what I was hearing, they've had many an accident etc. there at that mine. People's lives are at risk safety should be top priority. So sad.

It's so sad and unfortunate, in this day and age, that lives must still be risked going into the mines. There should be a better way!!!

I watched the faces of those relatives this morning on the news... grief is so horrible, but to combine it with false hope, I cannot imagine the depth of those feelings.

I am so sorry they lost those loved ones, and send prayers of comfort.....

I was sad to hear that those miners did not survive.
I was doubly sad to hear that the families had been given false hope, only to have that hope crushed with the true news.
Prayers out for all who lost a loved one in this tragic accident.

These guys are an institution in Canada.
Men of the Deeps.
If you can somehow listen to this choir, their voices and songs will not leave you indifferent.
'specially today.

To go to sleep last night, believing the good news being trumpeted all over TV & radio--then to awake this morning to learn the worst. . . so, so sad.

And my sadness is NOTHING compared to what the families & friends of the miners are going through. It is too cruel.

Did they find out what they died from yet? They said there were no traces of carbon monoxide in the surviving miner...I was afraid they wouldn't be as lucky as those other miners were...

I lived in a mining town in Northern Canada for fifteen years.
Deep rock mining men and women feel the loss of their own in a way that is impossible for me to describe.
Glad you enjoyed the link, Jane
