| Twenty five years ago today, John Winston Lennon was gunned down outside of his Dakota apartment in NYC. The world lost a very special man. A musical genious; a humanist; a philosopher; a funny guy; an artist; a man. http://www.john-lennon.com/jlnytimes.htm http://www.john-lennon.com/ http://news.scotsman.com/latest.cfm?id=2369952005 RIP John Lennon...we remember.... All you need is love and Give Peace a Chance Shalom!

My gosh....was it really that long ago? I guess it was, I remember I was in high school. I clearly remember walking into French class and my friend Judi, who was like a Beatles fanatic, was crying. Such a tragic loss.........

I was at home, taking care of my newborn and my nephew. The news came on, and I was in shock. I couldn't get enough information. As I was old enough to remember when Kennedy was shot, I can assure you, it was one of those moments you will always remember where you were and what you were doing when you heard the news. Being a loyal Beatles fanatic myself, I cried for a very long time over this tragedy.... My heart still grieves. What if... Shalom!

I remember hearing about it too, teach. I was 11 years old, and my cousin and I were delivering the morning newspaper (we wanted to make money for Christmas.) There it was on the front page. Even that young, I knew who he was, and felt an empty spot that I couldn't understand for a long, long time.

I was just weeks away from giving birth to my daughter and was at home with my 2 year old son. He asked me why I was crying and I told him about John Lennon. That was the beginning of a conversation about music, between my son and me, that continues to this day. He shares my deep love of music and is as big a John Lennon fan as I am.
