The Narnia Movie

Well, ole Gabe hasn't been this excited about a new movie since she was a young'un. I just saw a preview and wow, it looks awesome. I may just break my usual "wait 'til the DVD comes out" rule and go see this one in the theatre. I love the books and have been waiting patiently for a decent live action movie to be made. And let me just say how freakin' glad I am that Nicole Kidman turned down the role of the witch. Although she looked the part (and then some) it would have tainted an otherwise magical experience for me.

Gabe - we saw Harry Potter on Thanksgiving for Tim. This coming week - we're seeing Narnie...for mommy.

Good for you Trisha. I'm glad Tim is amenable to doing things for Mom.

I was so excited when I saw it advertised. That was one of my favorite books as a kid, and I introduced my children to it. My son says it's also one of his favorites.
We make it a mother/son outing.

I read the first book (this movie), and it was great.....though I'll probably end of renting it. I very rarely go to the theatre to watch a movie (a couple times a year)....most people **** me off in the movie theatre....so I end up renting on DVD.

RENT is the next movie I want to see. I'm a HUGE fan of the musical. I might make an exception to my no movie theatre rule.

I read them all as a kid. Can't remember much but the basics, but I know I liked them - never was much of a book reader so if I read it, I was really into it.

Me, sis and mom are going Thursday. Crap - sounds like I better take some kleenex...

Narnia? Wow, I'm a big movie buff and never heard of it, way out of the loop. But going to see Geisha and King Kong tomorrow, yup both of them, I'm sick of baking and decorating and wrapping and shopping, but done! Phew!

It's not really so sad, per se. I was just so touched by seeing one of my old favorites as a child brought to life.

I mean, as a child, I used to draw scenes from the movie!!!!

And Chy, it's The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, if that helps...

I can't wait to see KONG!

I took my 3-year old daughter to see the Polar Express on Imax 3D last weekend. Now that was killer. It was fabulous. One of the best Christmas films I've ever seen. I really loved it, as did my daughter.

Incidentally, my daughter absolutely refused to wear the special 3D glasses. It's a mystery to me how she managed to get out of there without a migrain headache and possibly a brain tumor.
