Fascinating!

Marzipan Babies

Thought you'd be as fascinated with these as I was. These are made with marzipan.... really unbelievable! While some of the faces may look "crafted" rather than "real", every detail is amazing, and the rest looks VERY real. Be blessed and enjoy the talent given one person by God.

Definition of Marzipan

almond paste: a sweet paste made of ground almonds and sugar, often with egg whites or yolks, used as a layer in cakes or molded into ornamental shapes.

These are wonderful Christie!

I make them for the top of christening cakes but they aren't as life-like as these, you'd almost expect them to wake up!

But disturbingly they are edible.....

I used to bite the heads off jelly babies - thankfully I hate marzipan!!

Could anyone bite into one??

Judging by the size, I could probably stuff two or three at a time.
Chocolate sauce would be nice.

It's made with icing sugar and liquid glucose, I guess you could call it fondant?
I make it myself though I think you can buy something similar.

Dan certainly needs something doing with him!

Wow! Freaky!

My daughter and I are just watching a show on the Food Network about Marzipan Halloween cakes and we were just talking about it when I opened this thread up. I had to call her over and show her! For a second she thought the hand was marzipan and that the babies were real! They are so life-like it's scary.
Amazing!
