Actually, that was a triathlon. Never have done a marathon, although I'm considering one for my next "sober goal". (Now that I'm finally sober again!)

I'd really like to finish ONE Ironman triathlon in my life. That means, obviously, that I'd have to run a marathon - after swimming 2.8 miles and biking 112 miles. So I don't know if doing a solo marathon is the right way, or to keep doing longer and longer triathlons until I reach the Ironman stage (there are so-called 'Tinman' and 'Half-Ironman' distances that you can do also).

Right now, I'm just focus on road cycling - I'll be in Europe for one more year and really want to be able to say that I raced in Europe!

Keep in touch regarding your training and competion plans, OK?

RRRRRR- what does SR want me to post here to accomplish the link?!?!? You can click on the line above and see the photo, but how do you make it a hotlink photo that comes up automatically?

I look pretty happy, don't I? Just scored a deal on that stack of speakers behind me. That's my new PA- no I don't work with bands anymore, it's just my garage stereo YYYYEEEEOOOWOWW!
Ah, so THAT'S what kind of Roadie you are! 'Roadie' is also slang for Road Biker in the cycling world (to distinguish between the mountain bikers and the triathletes) LOL! I actually worked in your field in college, and got the opportunity to work with Faith No More, Soundgarden, Voivod, Bad Brains and few others as the lead house tech on campus. Great experience for me!

Nice La Scalas! Reminds me of when I worked for a Klipsch dealer in Wisconsin - another "decible junkie" wanted a similar setup, and he ended up buying a pair of La Scalas and TWO Yamaha P2800 amplifiers that he bridged into mono!!!! I'm not sure if he has any hearing left!

It's Official:

Sober people are better looking that drunks and addicts!!

We have hotties in trucks, hotties on stage, hotties in hot convertibles, hotties by the water, hotties just being hot, hotties with lil' hotties...

This is a great thread - it makes everyone feel a bit more like a friend than simply an anonymous person on the internet. Love you all!

And just to add a quick edit here as to not sound like a shallow and petty womanizer - I also think you are a wonderful, caring, intelligent and insightful group as well!!

David (1 whole week sober, BTW!)

Stormy, well that's a BIG little girl. For some reason I though you had an infant at home when you came to meetings. Hope she turns out as lovely as her Mum!

Gosh, nice thread Stormy, this wins the award as mushiest thread ever! At least it's pumping up our self esteem a little. Good call on this one. Who said we had to be Anonymous on SR!?!!??

Gotta quit getting up in middle of night. Got a sleepy kitty here- ok off to beddies. (I know, can you imagine me as a CAT guy after seeing that photo?)

Thanks Undrunken and Yank. With my LaScalas, I biamp them, meaning separate amp for mid/hi bins and another, a Crown 1200 for the bass bins. I don't do PA anymore, but we have a heck of a party out here on my block. I live on a corner lot on 2 acres smack in the middle of the city.

Why doncha all come over here, I'll crank the tunes and we'll have a good ole time?

Those Klipsch towers must be worth a pretty red ยข! I just saw one pair of the "living room version" model 15's on eBay for $1000. Nice black laquer finish and they look like they just came out of the box. The Heresy Loudspeakers are nice too, for vintage tube-amps. My brother has a pair of Altec-Lansing 12" CRC Loudspeakers that look like Heresy I's, but they're in a rock maple & walnut enclosure. Heavy Man, Heavy.

Bumper Stickers

I've been thinking for a while about the possibility of a new 'tag line' for AA, the old ones seem so trite. How about...
