Something that all microbiologists know is that it is impossible to kill all bacteria. Our bodies and environment are full of all kinds of micros. In your body right now you have more bacteria than human cells. There 10 trillion human cells to 100 trillion bacteria right now in your body. With the outbreak of MRSA I feel that it is very important help speed this info to the general population. So that as many people as possible has an idea about what is going on in the mirco world. MRSA is a bacteria that is a mutated streptococci that is antibiotic resistant. It is very contagious. It can cause a great deal of damage to living tissue if left untreated. It is an Antibiotic resistant bacteria. Harmful bacterias mutate because of misuses of antibiotics and also anti-bacterial soaps and are one of the most adaptable forms of life on the planet. Antibiotics and anti-bacterias destroy useful bacteria as well as harmful ones. We could not live with out these useful bacterias. As they help us fight off harmful bacterias. We have a symbiotic relationship with our friendly bacteria they eat things that can harm us and they help us in so many ways. They are our friends. Anti-bacteria soaps that contain an ingredient called TRICLOSAN helps to perpetuate the mutation of harmful bacteria. This ingredient is found in many soaps for hand and dish washing that are sold in every grocery store in the country. If you wash your hands with it you kill your friendly bacteria and leave the harmful ones to grow stronger and more resistant, the same goes for environmental surfaces. You also want to check air sanitizers and other "germ killer" products for triclosan. Microbiologist have tried to warn the powers that be about this namely the FDA and others. But, alas, selling chemicals is a multi billion dollar industry that has powerful lobbyist in Washington. So you know what to use instead: alcohol based hand sanitizers are fine, plain old soap and water is also great Hydrogen Peroxide is still good for cleaning out cuts. Bleach, alcohol, white vinegar and baking soda are all fine for cleaning surfaces. You will help to prevent the mutation of harmful bacterias by getting back to basics. The life you help save could be one of your loved ones or even your own! Ya'll are my loved ones and I just want you to know about this.
