Go Big Brown!! The ponies are running today in Belmont for the final race for the triple crown. It's been 30 years since we've had a triple crown winner, and with Seattle Slew's death in 2001, there are no living triple crown winners. GO BIG BROWN!!!! ![]() ![]()

past couple of weeks there have been some events of HISTORICAL proportions.....the Pheonix landing on Mars, the Democratic primary, and now possible a Triple Crown Winner!!!! Casino Drive was scratched this morning, so the field is a smidge less challenging.......hopefully he can overcome that inside post! we'll see soon enough!

well that inside post did him in.......and i think that hoof was more of an impediment than they let on.......i was glad to see Ken pull him up and "save" the horse when it was obvious he didn't have anything left in the tank......he should have let him just have his head and run his race....oh well...........

Sounds like it was something internal...they say he wasn't hurt by the kick. So sad, but I'd rather Kent pull him up rather than push him on. Oh well...maybe next year. I'm used to saying that about my Dallas Cowboys, anyway. LOL

I can't believe whaqt I watched today. What the HELL????? The ONLY thing I noticed - was his tail in the paddock. he had it up. Like he was trying to 'poop' and couldn't. That's odd for a racehorse - because they're fed and watered really early so they won't have to do that while running. Then, in the post parade - he *did* and that was just plain wierd. Horse people know about the whole 'poop' thing. No way would the jockey have pulled him up. I believe what his rider said - he just had no horse. For those who are horse people - there's a horse thread starting up in a couple of weeks over in the 'groups ' section. Hope to see some of ya there! But man - what a disappointment.
