Before we all go off to our Memorial Day barbeques, ![]() Let's take a moment to remember what this holiday weekend is all about. And give thanks to those who gave their lives for our freedom. ![]() We don't have to agree with the causes of war, this one or any one. But, for those brave young men and women, Who put their lives on the line, and gave the ultimate sacrifices, Perhaps we can spend just a moment of silence To remember our debt to them, In gratitude. :Shalom!

Before we do any of those things, my girl scout troop and I go to the park for a ceremony to honor the men and women who serve/served. It makes the rest of my day better.

Memorial Day is for our brothers and sisters in arms who have gone on before us... Veteran's Day is for those of us who are still here... Both holidays are for those who are somewhere in between. Visit a VA hospital. Give a hug to the guy who is bed-ridden, legs gone, missing an arm and half his face. Take some lunch to the crazy old guy down the street who flies a flag every morning and walks around the neighborhood muttering to himself. Visit your local Amerian Legion or VFW or DAV office and ask if there's something you can do to help out. Pay attention to those bricks lining the walkway listing the names of your fellow citizens who were KIA or are MIA. When you see a vet handing out poppies this weekend, remember that there's not much he or she wouldn't do for this, our country.

A time to remember all those who did and are serving our country. Please go to your local ceremony honoring our dead heros. With a special prayer for SR members sons Jim G. and Sean D. ..may they come home alive. All gave some Some gave all.

My friend and I used to visit the VA on a regular bases. The guys there were starting to call my friend mom. She would get what ever they needed. She would bring clothes, coats or just a hamburger. Alot of these men did not have family.

Let us remember that without these men and women giving it all we may not have SR or many of the freedoms we enjoy today.
