well it must be appliance problems week! the older fridge that came with the house went kaputzky yesterday....started defrosting, horrid gas-like odor (freon? refrigerant?) - of course we JUST went shopping so the the thing is loaded with food. we gave it a while to see if it would recusitate, but nope. good news is we do have a really nice lightly used GE Profile....in the garage. crammed in the corner, behind the boat! hank managed to wiggle in there and get it balanced and plugged in. thank god IT works. so after giving it a go over with bleach i started hauling food out there. hank's shoulder is really bothering him. this is a guy who can sever a finger and it grows back the next day. he doesn't usually acknowledge pain to me so you know it's bad. of course there's no ICE or ICE packs, is there? so i zipped up to the little store and grabbed a couple bags of ice....we kept some stuff in coolers in the house like milk and lunch stuff so i wouldn't have to trot out to the garage....got him set up with an ice pack and made him SIT. that's like asking a hummingbird to sit! so the new fridge works like a champ, got the old one turned off but now is the issue of MOVING them. him with a bum shoulder and me.....i'm strong but i'm not refrigerator strong! worst case we deal with the new set up for a few days til we construct a game plan and i'll just get a little more exercise! sigh so he's hitting the shower and gonna get to work, do what he can and tell the bosses what's going on....its definitely a work related thing....he was wrestling the grout pump thingie yesterday and its partly an accumulation of years and years of heavy lifting and repetitive motion. hate to see him hurting tho. he gets a bit cranky. i can only chase him around with ice and ibuprofen so much.....guess it's his turn to get the doc, huh? |

Good morning! I'm doing okay...it's my weekend My coworker, Randy, has now had brain surgery and a part of his skull removed. I got the info at work to see if they can get some of the "emergency fund" our company has for employees, as he has NO insurance and brain surgery isn't cheap! He's stable, just talked to his wife. I don't think now is a good time to visit him, so told her to give him my love, but I would wait until I see him. My cousin's 8-year-old son fell at the zoo and hit his head so hard, he was put in a chemically-induced coma for 3 days. Just found out last night, but he is all better now. Guess that's when being hard-headed is a good thing? Work has been okay, but still a bit slow. I'll be so glad when the other store reopens (it's been remodeled) next week and we get rid of all the extra people we have working! I'm supposed to be training a girl, but she just wants to take all the tables and get all the tips. HELLOOOOOO....am I just supposed to sit around and twiddle my thumbs?! I told her last night, that if she continues taking table after table, I will start taking them away from her, because I CAN!

Im havinga tough time today, maybe I finally truly got acceptance or see reality for just that. Reality is AH is an alcoholic, nothing keeps him from a bottle. and he thinks its no big deal and ok, cause he hasnt used last few times hes drank. Whatever, Im not mad anymore its just sad. An example of his today, since today hehas no kids and house clean ect. Im willing to bet. He'll pawn his last tool for $20. go buy a bottle of rum, a pack of cigs and a bottle of soda. Depending on change a bag of cheetos too. By nightfall itll all be gone and he'll not be allowed in the house, he'll pass out in my hammock by 3 am. This is his life. SAD is the only word I can think of. Im focusing more and more on me and the kids and handling things one day at a time. Reality bites!!!

Oh gosh Amy so sorry to hear about your two family members being in the hospital... saying a prayer for them now to recover quickly. My week feels all screwed up from being off on Monday. I had my brother's gang over at my house for a BBQ and swimming... I'm sure going to miss the pool when we move. Gonna have to think of alternatives so I can still swim. Everyone seemed to be quiet on Monday except the kids they were all arguing and beating the snot out of each other. My brother got upset with Jake because he was doing a lot of the damage. I was trying to explain to my brother that this is nothing new... it just happened to be Jake's turn that day. He's tired of getting picked on by my nephew who tends to team up with Aaron. Jacob was definitely in a very sensitive mood yesterday but by the evening we had a good long talk and some cuddle time and I think he felt better. Had my glucose test yesterday at the midwife appointment... I hope it comes back good I really don't want to sit for the two hour test if I can avoid it. The boys got to hear Kaleb's heartbeat they thought that was pretty neat. Busy day today so I'll check back later when I can. Hope each of you has a great day.

Wow.....that is awful! Ok....I'm at work and sure don't wanna be! Would be a nice morning to be .....still in bed, it's cloudy drizzly and cool here this morning, sure wish we'd get some full blown rain outta the deal, probably not! I'm really getting excited about this get a way thing ya'll.....I so want it to happen and for ALL of us to get to go! keep the emails coming, I'm saving them all in a folder so we can throw them all in a hat and make some narrowed down dates/locations! Also, it's very possible I could FINALLY get to see my stepson tonight.....He has to go back to the Army Hospital this weekend and I've not gotten to see him yet! So....I think his Aunt may bring him to town to my house tonight and we're gonna go eat and then I'll take him home. I just hope he shows up. And....I'm a bit worried how to communicate with him, another reason why I haven't tried to call, with all that hearing loss, I bet he can't talk on the phone!! So we are still communicating through Myspace. Wonder if he's gone to see his dad...in PRISON? Sigh.....

(((Cindi))) This disease is sad... what's sad is even when they are not drinking and using they can still be so miserable and distant. So glad you are taking care of you and the kids and focusing on the things that you can control. I am trying to do that myself but often feel lonely. My meetings are so important to me for that reason as well... gives me a chance to be around others who understand what I'm going through. Sending you happy thoughts today.

ZOO UPDATE: What was I thinking the Savannah Monitor I got 7 weeks ago is a freaking dinosaur, a vicious animal. I love him but its crazy. Only funny part is each time AH drinks he gets bit, bad. "Komodo" has grown almost 3 inches since I got him, eats constantly, he's always hungry. Hisses and flails around like a darn gator, but keeps rodent population under control. My ferret: He's awesomely crazy, he really is. Turtle pond: Cool and relaxing. I love to watch them, but darn turtles grow fast. My 2 year olds are 7 inches

good morning all - Amy - prayin for Randy - for healing & swift recovery. Lies - ya'll should be at the dr right now - prayers for meds with little or no side effects, feelings of safety & security for your son. and Most of all some time of rest & peace for you. Anvil - prayers for Hank's shoulder - I use those heat (ThermaCare) patches - they really help me with the aches & pains. Have one on my lower back right now - after all that cleaning, rearranging furniture, etc. yesterday - my sciatic nerve is horribly irrated and causing lots of discomfort down my back & rt leg. Those help ease some of the pain. AJ-how fun for the boys to hear their little brother's heartbeat - hoping the test results are just fine. Jewelz - you doing ok? Cindi - Cunning, baffling & powerful? attending the memorial svs. for our friend this weekend - There was a slide show, with tons of pictures of him when he was sober and so productive in his recovery. Several of his fellow friends in recovery spoke, his former sponsees, it was hard to watch this "tough, hardnose" AA'ers talk with tears streaming down their face about their friend who lost the battle with the disease but never lost his smile. They cried because they had to distance themselves from him but their hearts always missed the man in recovery. Connie - hope you get to visit with your step-son - please let him know we have been praying for him. Wendy, KJ, Happy, Finally, and all our other pennies friends - peace to ya

Hi everyone. Boy, sure sounds like it was a busy/rough long weekend for everyone. We went to our friend's picnic, it was awesome. The kids even got to go in the pool for a while, it was freezing so they didn't stay long. Our Maddy was in there naked!! she refused any clothing, i guess thinking it was like a bathtub?? Totally hysterical. I ate way to much junk food, but oh well, who cares! amy - wow, keeping your friend in my thoughts. cindi - you're pretty much where i'm at - its just all so sad anymore. connie - thanks so much for thinking of putting a trip together - god knows we all DESERVE it!!

Finally - I always thought that was funny about kids..when they're babies, they can't stand to be undressed, when they get a little older, you can't keep clothes ON them!

yes amy - maddy is definately much happier when naked!! i hope she outgrows that before she starts school. LOL cindi- twizzlers are me & my mom's favorite candy, we always joke that they're ok, cuz the package says low fat!! (just don't read the carb amount!) so i got my 2nd graders class picnic all planned out today (on top of cleaning, washing all the sheets and doing dishes! - yeah me!) we're gonna do water balloons, and the egg on a spoon race too. i'm even gonna bring watermelon and strawberry shortcake. gonna get them all sugared up before sending them home LOL

I refuse to read the label Finally, just needed a sugar kick and figured they were better than cookies. D likes to pull his pants down and shake all about, if you know what I mean. I hope he stops before PreK, cause I can imagine what that would bring, but from having 3 boys, too me, its typical
