| quitting drinking coffee (and all caffeine)
I have been drinking coffee daily (a few cups) for the past 2 yrs+. I have tried on a couple occasions to quit, at least for awhile. Why? Anxiety and stress, and to sleep better. Mostly because of stress. I am a few hours away from 1 full week without caffeine or coffee, and I feel like ****. I have no energy and feel very weak, and my head is effortlessly going into very dark places. I have definitely thought about drinking/using in the past few days. The first day was hell, the next few I was just really tired but felt relaxed, and the last couple I have felt like I fell out of the 12 step tree and hit every branch, then rolled down a hill and off a cliff. Is it worth it to try and quit drinking caffeine?

Hi bob - I did quit drinking coffee a few years ago and have always been so glad I did. it was definitely tough at first - I actually was drinking half regular/half decaf for a few weeks, before I went totally to decaf, and now I hardly ever even drink decaf anymore - I'm a green tea girl now! I definitely feel less anxious and jittery without it. And since I gave up coffee - people tell me how white my teeth are, haha! it's like anything - it took a while for your body to get addicted to it, it will take time to get un-addicted. but it can happen...

I am a coffee passionate addict, mainly because I work for a coffee company. I love it and have at least 3 a day. I dont think a good cup of coffee hurt anyone. Its like anything in small doses. It would be the same if you took all sugar out of your diet, you would have a reaction.
