I'm having some age-related memory loss... Went to the kitchen to make my first cup of coffee and found that I'd made coffee last night and left the pot on all night!

Where's Tomsteve and Matt? We miss you guys, please come back and whine with us.

When I woke up today, Lily was on the bed and Billie didn't chase her off.

(((Mk))) Thinking of you and sending hugs and prayers of comfort.

Took Billie with me and went to the store for more stray cat food. Also went to the natural food store and got more flax oil and wheat germ for the dogs.

PJ, yes I'm guilty of cpa.

Not much new with the shopping network. I have done art and words and d/m stuff, so was ghosting. Just a vacuum cleaner with headlights.

Just got an annoyance call and told them loudly to STOP CALLING ME and he responded by saying "[email protected] you"! I'm reporting that number to the FCC.

Good luck w/that, least. I was doing some research on how to stop those nuisance calls recently, b/c it seems like being on the "no call list" really USED to work, but not any more.

Boiled down, the info I found said that those nuisance calls are almost impossible to stop any more, and no one fears any repercussions for violating the "no call list." With technology as it is nowadays, by the time the FCC tracks down that number, it's no longer being used. The nuisance callers have moved on to a new number, and probably SEVERAL new ones, long since, and are effectively untouchable.

It seems the only way to avoid the calls is to simply not answer any call where you don't recognize the number. I do this myself, figuring that anyone who is calling for a legitimate reason will leave a message. Unfortunately, the nuisance callers are starting to leave messages now too!!

HP - Yes, that's what we are doing - just not answering. I still hate hearing the phone ring incessantly though.

Praying for dear MK and Lauren.
Thank you, Chic.

Ann - hope it's gone well today. I know you'll be glad to get back to your lovely place.

Suki - Ice Cream month - I hope there are a lot of sales. I have no business buying any though.

There is a guy who makes a crust now as a comedian...by harassing spammers.
Example- he was sent a spam telling him he had been carefully chosen to be involved with the shipment of a large quantity of gold from Nigeria and the for security, his bank details were needed, to screen scammers. It was from a Nigerian Army Colonel. So this guy kept sending back responses- where? how much gold? when? perhaps they should meet? Really acting the fool- the completely taken in idiot..that was hopelessly unscammable because his delusion was not tethered to money.
After about 15 or so of these emails to and fro..the Nigerian Colonel asked him to stop, to please stop sending messages.

Yes, I read about that. Completely uncalled for. She had no weapon and wasn't posing any threat. For the cop to do that was unconscionable. He should be charged with murder. It's not safe to call 911 anymore.

The Minneapolis woman shot and killed by the police, responding to her 911 call, was engaged to be married next month. She's an Australian yoga / meditation teacher and was walking to the cruiser in her pajamas, when the officer in the passenger seat shot and killed her

I remember Lauren well. I miss her wonderful stories about apples falling on the floor of her green house, pictures of what she was baking, stories of her dog and her unwavering love and care of her husband. I'm very sorry to learn the last few years have been difficult and that he's now gravely ill.

MK, Thinking of you and your loved ones today and in the days ahead.

We're getting a return of hot and sticky weather this week !

I am home but very nauseated from the barium drink and will take it easy tonight. I meet with the doctor next week for results but I expect all is well.

Love you all. See you later or tomorrow.

That eagle picture made me think of this:

Quote:
Be like the bird, who, pausing in her flight on limb too slight, feels it give way beneath her, yet sings, knowing she hath wings.
Don't know who said it but I like it. And if the eagles' branch broke under them, they could just fly. Falling is one of the worst sensations I can imagine.

Ann, sounds like you should take it easy tonight until you feel better.
