| Funny Little Quirks
Ever notice little things about yourself that are a bit odd? Not necessarily quite ’strange’ or ‘unusual’, but just funny little details that help you set yourself apart from the rest of the herd on those depressing Monday mornings when you realize those cute shoes you bought are about as unique as the fake Louis Vuitton purses sported by the frumpy office moms who apparently also thought that sensible ballet flats were special and different this year? Whew, thats a mouthful... I wrote here to just have some fun, on some neurosis that are quite funny that you cant shake, basically the little joys of your life... Here are some of mine.. Share share, this will be fun! 1. Freaking out about something completely unnecessary is a part of my balanced breakfast. (example: the fork being to heavy) 2. I hate warm toilet seats, there is just no way. 3. I have to wear socks all the time, I dont understand how people can go barefoot. Especially on hard wood floors, I will purposely go around to avoid it if I am caught barefoot. 4. Pumpkins scare me, Lol, its the slimy stuff I cant handle. ick.. 5. Toilet paper roll has to roll over, not under! 6. Money has to go in order in my wallet, from smallest to biggest. 7. Products in the store, I cant take the product thats in front of me, I have to take whats in back that way Im certain noone has touched it! 8. I cant sleep on wrinkled bed sheets 9. I have to put my left shoe on first! Same with my socks. 10. I won't put my purse on the floor because a friend told me it is bad luck for your finances. 11. When I put the pillows back on my bed in the morning, I put the open ends toward the middle. What are some of your funny little neurosis? |

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA I love it! In my family they use the euphenism and I have heard it from many, now that I think about it...that I am different. But the funny thing is...What? I wish someone would really explain that to me some time. Hmmm.....I prefer to live in silence. I really get edgy after awhile with the sounds of tv, radio, stereo etc. When I play the stereo, when having company...I have to dj it. I don't want to listen to a whole disc, I want to play a song from this and that and weave thematic associations. I require extended periods of alone time, I think of them as necessary retreats. Even tho' an introvert in many ways....I love meeting people and drawing out their stories. Books are my best friends. My life philosophy is both very very serious and simultaneously carefree, I am on an adventure. I do not understand what most people agree is common sense. I don't even agree on the standard expectations of people or lifestyles. I LOVE leathers and furs. My curtains are "Flintstones' style..." rough leathers hung and etc etc. To me, clothes are costumes. At home, I often do not dress at all. I dislike all artificial scents..they are odors to me. Natural smells, yep, even BO..I like. I don't plan things, but I keep an eye out for opportunities of interest. I can't find my way out of a paper bag...I learn one route for everything and never deviate from it or I will forever be confused. I think in words and text...not visual at all. And, I really only talk to my partner, but then I expect a tremendous amount of dialogue. Very common for me to go off doing my own thing and my family doesn't even know where I am. (Parents, siblings, daughter etc...some of them understand and accept this is part of me, others are hurt.) And, finally, I think my partner and I are going to become hobos and take off in my travel trailer, no destination....just the journey. I only pay attention to things that interest me. I do go barefoot by preference. I consider externals to be something to adapt to, and love variety. Not quite the same as your list. Probably because I really don't understand what "normal" people do and think, for comparison?

I can be a little obsessive/compulsive, although I like the term "quirks" better. Anyway, I have a few. I like my soup cans in alphabetical order. Actually I like everything in alphabetical order and it throws me off if they're not. I too like silence, or very very quiet music, when I am working or driving and need some peace. Other times I can put on the music and enjoy it, but when I am looking for peace after a busy day, for example, I need silence. Abrupt change in plans throws me. I can be quite spontaneous, but if something is planned I need to to go forward as planned, when planned and where planned. Sheesh, putting this in writing is almost scary

I never thought about the can thing, It would make things a lot easier in my pantry, haha. Yea I dont like the word obsessive/compulsive either, I just like to sit back and have a laugh at some of the things I do without even paying attention. I look at them as little dealies that make me me! My husband however, huh, he just laughs and says thats why he married me... lol Thanks for sharing, this is fun! Oh a big one I have, When I take pictures, they have to be perfect, I will take 300 to get 2 or 3 nice ones, my kids hate it but I have a whole bunch of good perfect pictures... |
