I've been a bit busy with work...and the weather hasn't been too hot lately...so I haven't taken many pics during the last week.

Before I went to work this moring I heard a woodpecker (don't know what kind this is) and grabbed my camera. This is the only shot that turned out somewhat clear...but it's still not great.

Bam, I didn't realize your skills weren't up to mine

. You take way more awesome wildlife pictures than I do, my frog shot was luckyyyyyy. Seriously, I've never had a shot before like that one.

I've always wondered, how do you get shots so close to the bugs or animals you take pics of? Like your bumblebee, that picture is amazingly detailed, how'd you do it?! I mean zoom and what not but do you actually creep really close to it? That's what I had to do with the frog because my zoom isn't the greatest..I was lucky he didn't swim away! I've been trying to identify what it was, I think it was a bullfrog.

I can't wait till winter when I can find some moose and hopefully I'll see a wolf at least once...apparently they're somewhere here.

I don't know if you sell your work, but that one could get you a lot of cash. You caught that frog at the right moment--I can see the water tension right below its mouth...the reflection in the water...it's perfectly focused and exposed...well composed...and with all the green it's practically a monochromatic shot. Beautiful.

I got lucky with that bumblebee. It was in the morning and it wasn't moving around much. I have a macro setting on my camera and I used it for that shot.

If I'm shooting an insect (or animal) that is moving too quickly or moves off when I get too close I can't use macro so I get as close as I can and zoom in.

I've been looking into getting a macro lens for my camera but lenses are always expensive... Though I do have a light-weight and small-ish telephoto lens.. it's not real good quality though.

You have one of those fancy DSLRs, don't ya?

I can't afford one of those yet...I have a bridge camera and it's great for now.

Maybe in a year or two I'll be able to afford to step up.
