#1 Song the Day You Were Born

Here's a fun little site where you can look up which song was number one on any given day:

#1 Song on This Date in History

On my birthday: Stuck on You, by Elvis

I Want To Hold Your Hand, by The Beatles. My older brother played their music all the time.

Some of my friends tease me about singing Downtown by Petula Clark when I went to the bathroom as a little kid

LOL Indie.

Mine was "Crimson & Clover by Tommy James & the Shondells" in America but I am British so that doesn't count.

In the UK it was "Fleetwood Mac - Albatross" which I have at least heard of.

God save thee, ancient Mariner
From the fiends, that plague thee thus
Why look'st thou so ? - With my cross-bow
I shot the ALBATROSS.
...
Ah. well a-day. what evil looks
Had I from old and young
Instead of the cross, the Albatross
About my neck was hung.

Hmmm

I'm not sure. It was either "Camptown Races" or "Yankee Doodle". Or perhaps "Battle Hymn of the Republic."

The "Star Spangled Banner" was still a British Drinking song.

Cathy's Clown, the Everly Brothers?

Kinda of cool, however, never heard of either. Some of you have some pretty cool songs for your birth date.

According to the posted site 'I love Rock 'n' Roll' by Joan Jett which is cool, but that's the US

But in the UK, where I was born it was the unheard of 'Seven Tears' by the Goombay Dance Band.

Oh well it was 1982, could have been worse, could have been 'Bucks Fizz'. lol

How embarrassment.
