MAC, far and away, MAC. I just got one of those tiny laptops from hp, it's OK for email and some internet stuff. It's so small I can actually carry it in my tote bag, much like a book. Weighs about 4 pounds. I fried my MAC iBook and am still grieving. It was just so easy to use! Hope this helps. Love, Lenina |

MacBook Pro here... Used PC's since the DOS days... all the way through Windows Vista... went to Mac last fall and have never looked back... I did like the way windows handles their files/subdirectories/directories a little better... but since I'm mostly into the photos, music, DVD's... I don't miss the PC. Besides, I want to be like the youngish and hip Mac guy... not like the stodgy, older PC business guy... ....BTW, only a Mac user would ask that question... or answer it with such abandon!! ![]() Poll anyone?? Mark

PC user here. I think both companies suck. Macs are overpriced. Actually, everything Apple sells is overpriced...like my POS ipod that completely crapped out on me after a mere 3 MONTHS! I'm still mad over that one. Unfortunately, in a fit of rage, I completely destroyed it. Now it's in a landfill in FSM knows where. (it was an ipod nano 3g…and the MFers came out with the 4g 1month after I bought mine…and the price went down $50! GRRRRRR! ) After calming down, I bought a Sony mp3 player...had it so far for 4 months and not a spot of trouble yet. AND it sounds freakin' awesome...did I mention it's a heck of a lot cheaper, too?

We own PCs in our house (3 of 'em) but I've used Macs at work. It was hard for me to learn to use the Macs at work, but for sure they have a lot more stability. And the virus thing is a HUGE plus for Mac. I'd love to buy a Mac for my next laptop. I agree with Bam, though. Macs are WAY overpriced as compared to PCs. Your computing dollar goes A LOT farther with PCs, but at what other cost? It used to be the case that you couldn't run a LOT of software on Macs, but I believe they've made great strides in that department so it's not nearly as big an issue as it used to be. p.s. We've never had any problems with any of our ipods. I upgraded to an ipod Touch about a year ago and I adore it. I hate that you can't replace your own battery, but oh well.

Macs do have a sexiness thing going on, lol, and I believe they are the thing to have for music and graphic design software but why so expensive? Linux is good, you can stick Ubuntu onto and old system and it will run nice and fast, no virus worries and it's all free. Maybe one day I will get a Mac if I come into money, lol.

In fact for £500 or less I could buy a PC that was better specced in every way than the iMac Don't get me wrong, I do think Macs are sexy, just expensive.

On the Mac I will literally be running 10 programs at once: webcam with my g/f, torrent downloads, Photoshop, text editor, Warcraft, etc. And then I'll open up the web browser and end up with a dozen windows open. And then the latest episode of House MD will finish downloading and I start to play the AVI in another corner. And it not only doesn't crash, it doesn't even slow down. Quote:

| You might be right, I have never used a Mac. I was just going on the fact that the hardware would be a lot higher spec.
