| | A Course in Miracles Has anyone read this book? Someone loaned me "A Return to Love" audiobook which, as I understand it, is based on ACIM. Any thoughts on either one?

Interesting timeing Matt. I was just reading from this site. www.12stepmiracle.com - 12 Steps Intro I read through it about a year ago, it uses the 12 steps and ACIM, check it out. I haven't read the book yet but I will get around to it. Last week I noticed my sponsor had an old edition, he said it was great 11th step work.....since I was on step for I put it down. ![]() I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who has read it as well.

About 8 years ago I was determined to plow through ACIM and I read diligently every night. Previous attempts had left my head spinning as I found it to be very difficult to comprehend and would have to re-read a paragraph 3 times before moving to the next one. (I am not an unintelligent person!) But even when I read with diligence and perseverance I only got to about page 75 or 100 before I put it aside once again. Haven't picked it up since. It is an incredibly interesting piece of work, however, and I recommend that you at least have it on your shelf. When the time is right you'll pick it up.

| | Thanks for sharing your experience, TJP Really appreciate it.Since my original post, I've read parts of ACIM, and dabbled with the exercise workbook. I have recently found the work of Eva Pierrakos; though very similar to ACIM, Pierrakos' lectures feel like a better match for me... I can relate to them more organically, it just "feels" right. However, I suspect that the basic message both of them deliver is ultimately the same - I'll probably check back on ACIM further down the road. Quote:

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say that this is an amazing book. I've been studying it off and on for about 20 years and would love to discuss it with anyone who feels the same. :-)

Artsoul I have been studying it for the last 8 years. I think the key is to do the workbook lessons. It seems to unlock the meaning of the text. I must admit that I have moved away lately and I can always feel it when I do. My peace of mind goes out the window and I feel heavy. The 11th step? Mmmm... Interesting.
